How many machines is enough/too many?

So I was talking with some friends and we couldn't decide if I had a problem or not.

I currently have:

1x desktop that I constantly use

2x backup desktops in case my main rig is unavailable (one of them is decent-er, as far as old PCs go, so I sometimes use it when I have friends at lan parties, since we mostly play SC:BW or AoE)

1x laptop I use when I'm feeling lazy and cba get out of bed

1x netbook I haul around with me pretty much everywhere I go

1x local NAS I made out of an old PC

1x remote NAS I keep at my parents

1x HTPC that I can't use due to not having a TV anymore

Admittedly I could get rid of some of them, but I see no point in doing that. Most people around here have at most 1 pc and 1 laptop and having a NAS is already too much to deal with (for them).

So, do I have a "problem" (with having too many computers) or is it common(ish) techie sense to own most (if not all) of the above?

no such thing as too much tech. even old tech can be repurposed for streaming, home media, storage, or VMs.

2 desktops. one gamer, one media machine

2 laptops. one windows, one linux.

1 phone in use. 1 backup.

1 squid rig for hardware testing.

wish i had a tablet for school web surfing.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

I didn't even count phones, tablets and benches D:

4x phones (1 daily driver, 1 mobile hotspot, 1 backup and 1 home)

2x tablets (1x kitchen and 1x bathroom, because reasons and they were free)

2x test benches somewhere in storage, long forgotten and probably 55% dust

does the iPad doorstopper count as a tablet? I feel it shouldn't, since all it does is stop the door knob from banging into the wall

It's a problem when you can't communicate intrapersonally. No matter how many devices you have, there should be off limits/no-no, i.e dining table, driving or walking. Other than that, go nuts.

It was more a matter of me being some sort of technology hoarder.

Nice!

I only have a GameCube and Wii for consoles from Nintendo or SEGA. Still want to get at least an NES, SNES and N64

And I believe Linux on a Xbox original is pretty easy
