Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. None of this 75-144 (not terrible) or 40-60/75 nonsense.

Ah finally a monitor that supports FreeSync at a resolution reasonable for AMD. Maybe those "8" core FX-8350s won't blow up.

In all seriousness this is good. I wish they made a g-sync monitor like this that was IPS but couldn't find one. It would be nice for cheap triple monitor sets at 1080p.

I don't know why but these comparison between no freesync and with freesync always makes me chuckle.

Pretty darn near perfect to what I need tho.

Please take my money.

Well, you ever hear of Betteridge's law of headlines? It states that any headline that ends with a question mark can be answered with "No." It seems pretty good, but the TN panel ruins it for me :\

Also I don't run AMD so there's that too.

Perfect G-sync monitor: ROG IPS Swift updated one

Perfect FreeSync monitor: Nixeus Vue 24″

for now....

'Perfect for now' doesn't really make any sense. If something is 'Perfect', it cannot be improved upon.

Throwing that word around in the constantly evolving world of technology is generally not a great idea...

Aw, and here I thought it was built on a panel of LEDs, not just being LED-backlit. Nope, not a perfect monitor, and the FS range really should go down to 20.

When they say LED.... it's usually LED backlight, the pixels aren't individual LED.

What is the benefit of having the lower bound at 20?

20 is not going to look smooth, correct? 30 is a reasonable lower limit, no?

I believe you meant it in jest, but to be fair, AMD actually handles high resolution better than nVidia on the GPUs; for example the GTX 970 is pretty much superior across the board to the R9 290 when playing games at 1080p, but jump up to 1440p and the bag becomes more mixed. I suppose as of right now, nVidia does have a lead in super high end cards raw performance but that may change if and when AMD releases something new.

I like the idea of freesync, but based on my situation, my next monitor will be 1440p (either 16:9 or ultrawide) for productivity reasons. Gaming is not my main use, but having freesync too would be nice. I thik the most important thing though is how well the Occulus rift handles varrying framerates as that is the display I would care the most about for immersive experiences such as games, while a traditional monitor I just want to be able to multitask effectively, view pictures well, etc. Too bad I am a poor college kid and shouldn't be buying a new monitor... haha

To anyone considering freesync or Gsync, it really is a game changer and is worth the money.

It takes an hour or two for your brain to adjust if you are used to v-sync. The stutter or lag of v-sync doesn't occur when you are anticipating it, and it feels weird at first.
