Usually when I have $4k laying around I spend it on travel, that amount of money will get you return flights between pretty much any two points on the globe.

I'd buy a new camera, get a decent pair of headphones as well as a new mic, get a new car stereo & speakers (much needed). After that I'd put the rest in a high interest ISA and invest a bit, probably in apple.
