980 Ti Reference Boxes Pics Emerge with additional Gaming Benchmarks, and uncut GPU-Z shots

The most important news: there are as many ROP units on GTX 980 Ti as on TITAN X. This is probably why GTX 980 Ti does so well in gaming benchmarks, making it almost impossible to differentiate the two.

 

It is also confirmed that GeForce GTX 980 Ti has 176 Texture units, which is exactly what we expected. GeForce GTX 980 Ti has 6GB GDDR5 memory and a 384-bit interface. Card is clocked lower than TITAN X (1000/1076 vs 1000/1089 MHz), but the memory clock is still the same (7 GHz).

 

 

 

The GM200-310 has two SMMs (Streaming Multiprocessors Maxwell) disabled. It means that one GPC (Graphics Processing Cluster) has been cut in half. Judging from the specs, nothing else was changed (hopefully we won’t need to confirm those specs using reverse engineering). Well looks like this card is everything I wanted to be, slightly cut down GM200. Within 5-10% performance of a Titan X (sometimes less than 5%). I don't think I could be any happier. All we can hope for is a decent price tag and this will be the card to own for Summer 2015. I'm assuming it will be priced around $700 and for being practically a hair under a Titan X it will definitely be worth the price. Also mind you the creators of the graphs put the 980 Ti on top, even though it is slightly slower than a Titan X.

based on these scores why would anyone think about buying a titan x now? just curious as the titan x is advertised as a gamers card, and with its lack of double precision, its not even a good workstation card....I am confused,, why Nvidia would do this? (again just based on the above info). I mean its great for us consumers, dont get me wrong.....

well given that we got the same amount of rops as the titan x I doubt that they cut the l2 cache module, and that what caused the problem with the 970, so no slower 512 if every l2 module is there

it only has 9% less from both, although the difference in these benchmarks are less then 9%

I wonder if the custom coolers, pcb and power delivery will give them enough overhead for oc for them to be similar (I mean even more similar) to a reference cooled, oc'd titan x

Same here, was going to bite the bullet and get an EVGA Titan X Superclocked tomorrow, but might hold off a little more now. Depending on price and performance, I might get 2 980 Tis's

 

Although I want to see how the Ti handles The Witcher 3, that'll be my deciding factor.
