Am I stupid for doing this?

Meawa

I got a PC last December ( http://pcpartpicker.com/b/nDhqqs )but I never really used it to its full potential. The CPU never got over 50% exept when running benchmarks, F@H, etc, and the GTX 970 was barely used because I play minecraft on it 90% of the time. The RAM never got over 10 GB usage.

You want to share or something? My 7950 could use an upgrade for those Skryim ENB's and witcher 3 and stuff.

If you don't plan on running any heavy games you can:

A.) Send the 970 to me and I'll give you my GT 740

B.) Start Folding 24/7

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel

Did you enjoy building it? Did you learn something? honestly it might be overkill for what you do now, but it should last a while.

Your not doing it right. Run all the game enhancing mods on minecraft and your PC will implode. Go do it now, the glorious visuals with a heavily modded version of minecraft is a godsend.

Well even that build is slightly overkill.

Minecraft with 200+ mods and shaders will burn your pc sooooo...

Run MC with 4K textures and the most demanding shaders you can find. It can be more demanding than Crysis xD

  • 3 weeks later...

Your PC is overkill for minecraft... Go and run demanding shaders in 4K, or start folding, play other games or whatever...  :)

I hope you will use your horsepower you have.
