Moving to the PC Master Race (NEED PARTS)

Ok so basically im trying to build my first PC and to find the perfect specs is hard to do

So these are the specs ive come up with

MSI PC Mate Z97 Board

Intel i5 4460

Hyper x Fury 8GB RAM

EVGA GTX 960 SSC

Samsung EVO 250GB ssd

EVGA 500w 80+ Bronze PSU

I want to be able to play games high to ultra setting at 60fps. I dont want to go any lower than a quad core CPU and i dont want to ditch the ssd.

The build must be £500 ($750 approx) or under. Under is better :D

Get a 280X as its got 3 GB of Vram and is generally better value for the money

Don't take a Z97 mobo if you don't have a K CPU.

He may want to upgrade to a K series chip in the future.

That motherboard is overkill, since you cannot overclock the 4460.

Get an R9 280X instead of the GTX 960, it only costs a few more bucks but it is way better.

Also, you should go for a 600 watt (or higher) PSU to be ready for the future.

EDIT: and yeah, you should get a HDD for mass storage.

So you want the PSU to be ready for the future, but not the motherboard? Doesn't really make sense to me

I agree, when you're on a budget usually you get more performance for the money with a AMD cards like the R9 280X.

128 gb ssd is enough for 2+ games and os then you should get like a 1tb hdd for the rest.

256gb won't be enough unless you only play 5 games or something and even if you do this it wouldn't be especially future proof.

Since you probably would want to try out some games in the future or store other stuff there.

Is 128gb enough for a boot drive?

64 is enough, 128 leaves you some headroom for software and a couple of games.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

It's more important to have a strong psu than a future proof motherboard and he most likely won't upgrade the cpu within the next 2-3 years.

But he might upgrade the gpu in the future.

Any Good cases for a build?

Look for your style in NZXT, Coolermaster or other gaming brand cases.

They gotta be mid-tower.

You're gonna need more than a 960 for high/ultra on 1080p

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs
