Digging through my photo's I found some of my old rigs/setups xD Figured I would show them off to you guys.

Circa 2002:

Stats:
2ghz athlon 64
Geforce 5800gtx
2gb ram DDR2

The little TV is actually a professional camera monitor that I used for a second screen to play my TV tuner on. I also had a second win95 computer there to look up things on the internet while playing FFXI. Also the Gamecube was hooked up VIA a scanline converter. And the speakers are 800watts, 4 12" 2 15" over 2 amps sometimes setup in 4.0 surround sound.

And now from 2007.... The Rave Machine!
This was a Phenom II (I think)
In its early days it had SLI 7800GTX but by now its been upgraded either to a 9800 or 280gtx. with 4gb of ram, eventually upgraded to 8gb.

Yeah in the 2007 build the cables were intentionally un-managed to provide as many crazy colors in as many places as possible... Kinda like the prolonged exposure shots people take of light shows.

Also yes, there's 4 12" and 2 15" at 800 total watts. 8ohms also theres 2 amps so I did have it setup a very ghetto rigged quadraphonic at one point. with 4 speakers in front and 2 in back for 4.0 surround.

Another funfact, the rave machine one fans all change colors... and there are 5 yes 5 concealed 12" cold cathodes in that box, one on each edge and one behind the support bar across the center.

cleanest 1999 pc ever?

my first own pc that wasnt the family pc, now got a new case and went through all my ram to get it as good as it can be.
athlon 650mhz, 3x256MB of 133mhz SD ram (thats the max the board allows!) mx440 is getting a new cooler at the moment (thats right im fixing an agp card) so for now its got a p182 or something in there (i have plenty of other agp cards i could stick in there but thier fans whine like a who..)
case is a cit mars (red) i got for £10 brand new off a friend who changed his mind, 2x 40GB wd black drives (physically black), the board is a QDI kinetiz 7a, and its running a dark windows xp theme with a round start orb, looks great, also has VLC and chrome on it :D
cinebench r15 wont open....plus it would take a week to do it and have a score of 10ish

since my last post ive been tinkering with an old system i have,

the board is a hp 323091-001

its an oem hp motherboard with a 2.6ghz northwood pentium4 (130nm 512kb l2 cache) that i replaced last year with a hyperthreaded version of the chip i had spare, after thinking "oh no i dont have any more ddr2" which considering ive had tons of old 512mb 533mhz sticks lying around was a surprise, then im like "NO! it takes ddr1, YES!!!" ive got tons of that.

because im giving it to my friend next door hes got a case he got off me ages ago and an old 350w e-z cool psu or something and hes always talking about wanting a seperate system and if you've seen my sig you can tell i have a few, also he wants to mess with linux and id rather him stop messing up his rig.

so i laid out my spare ddr1 ram in a 3x3 grid with speed on the x axis and amount on the y axis (266, 333, 400mhz horizontally, 256mb, 512mb, 1gb vertically)

so hes getting 4 sticks of 266mhz 256mb sticks, its linux so a gigs fine...

you know when people give you old parts they cant do anything with? well i got his old 80gb IDE cinemastar hitachi drive and hes got a gigabyte gefore2 mx 32MB graphics card with no heatsink, i happen to have a gigabyte motherboard chipset heatsink im going to stick on it.

so thats going back to him and being turned into a linuxbox
