[U.S, CA, UK] Free backplate with EVGA SC and SSC GTX 970s

If you purchase one of these two GTX 970 variants from a participating retailer in your region you get a free backplate for a card that typically wouldn't include it.

You can also purchase it from the EVGA online store and get the free backplate.

This deal applies only to cards purchased from the 17th through the end of April.

I still want a backplate for my classy 780

There was a guy on overclock.net that was selling one. I think it might be gone by now though. You can still get an EK backplate and get screws for it at your local hardware store.

I think people think that they would be able to get a free backplate without buying a card. It's not really a big deal. I thought it was a given.

with the purchase of a qualifying card

would be a bit much for a title.

Yeah I agree. And this is a fairly common promo for EVGA so I think most people would know that you need to buy a card.
