No that's good, I understood that. I was just joking/being sarcastic

Unfortunately, sarcasm doesn't really translate across text.

Which sucks, because I use it a lot.

Oh, as you know I never use sarcasm, so that may have been a bit unclear

ok I was playing skribbl.io with some classmates (sorta like charades, you draw something and people guess what it is). One of the options to draw was 'motherboard' and the rest of the options all sucked. So I draw a lil CPU fan, some heatsinks, pcie slots, and some ram sticks and no one guessed what it was.

Some guesses include:

-hacking (4 times) -bomb (3 times) -laptop (1 time) -printer (2 times)

I have seen my parents unplug computers when ads come up so that "[insert whatever else is on that electrical circuit] doesn't get a virus from the computer" because "the computer has anti virus but the [insert appliance] does not"

I've just remembered that one of our PCs at school used to have electrical safety test stickers stuck over the optical drive 🤦‍♂️

The worst part of this is that it's not a one-off - there were multiple stickers from different years all stuck on top of each other.

Loads of blank space elsewhere on the case - so why did they consistently choose there to put the stickers?

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Work at a pub, which is mostly older people.

Covid sign in is digital. Boss redirects them all to me.

Boss is also a non-techie, Had to go in today (on my day off) because she couldn't switch the massive (4k x 4 panel TV, HDR, full local array dimming, all the bells and whistles.) video wall over to the UFC. (God I wish I was allowed to hook up my PC to it lol. they use it for 720p content) She was pushing the wrong area lol, even though over the phone I asked her if she was selecting "video wall".

My Apprentice Trainer likes to assume that I code all the time in my free time. Like 30% of the resume which got me this Apprenticeship talks about all the languages I roughly know and where and how I learned them. I haven't opened a project for almost 2 years now lol.

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

I'm Swiss and my Mother language is Swiss German of course, I speak the Aargauer dialect. If you want to watch a great video about Swiss German which explains the language and outlines the Basics, then click here.

If I could just play Videogames and consume Cool Content all day long for the rest of my life, then that would be sick.

Ditto. I also have a magnetic mat that I've used exactly once because I keep forgetting I have it.

A miner and I were talking about home networking yesterday. He comes around the corner in time to see the layout on the computer that I'm thinking of and hears me tell the miner that it's the long range AP, so it's good for 180 meters.

Turns into a 20 minute conversation of why that wont work for him instead of his router.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I've ran into more calling them a SDD (HDD) than SSD tho.

Or just whenever you hear someone looking at a new smartphone and the person interested say, "How many gigabytes of memory does it have??" and the associate responses, "There are 128GB of memory on this model.". I cringe every time I hear that when memory is referencing RAM...not storage.
