Please tell me performance diffrence in xeon v1 or v3 plz!

So yea im about to buy xeon e3-1240 so how slower or whats diffrence between 1240 or 1240 v3, i know they are sandy bridge and haswell i think? Also with wich i7 i can compare 1240 v1? Is there huge diffrence in performance? Is it worth buying v1? Please help me! Thanks! also should i buy e3-1240 v1 or i7 2600k?

If you're not planning on overclocking or using the integrated graphics, you can go with Xeon instead of i7. 

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

In the same way you have a 2700K and you have a 4790K, you have a 1240 V1 and a 1240V3 - you get platform updates, faster CPU cores etc.

The V3 is haswell and will fit in newer socket 1150 motherboard which should be much cheaper than old sandy bridge motherboard...no reason not to go with the V3.

If you dont need HT an i5 is a good choice to buy new!

I wouldn't buy an used overclockable CPU, a Xeon would be the safer bet but if you can go with something new!
