Long story short, school's been taking a toll on me and Windows 10 was being really bitchy about my WiFi card.

It's starting in 3 days for me. :(

Any of you linux experts able to help me make a 32 bit EFI ubuntu flash drive? I have a windows tablet that had a corrupted OS, so I reinstalled windows and the touch screen doesn't work because windows drivers are fucking stupid

So I want to install ubuntu, but I can ONLY boot EFI (through the tablet's EFI shell), and its a 32 bit machine.

can you legacy boot csm? x86 efi is very uncommon, and linux does not support it.

if you need efi, check this out http://askubuntu.com/questions/392719/32-bit-uefi-boot-support

apparently you need a custom bootia32.efi file to boot into the live environment, but i'm not sure about installing.

I've been able to boot into grub with that link but I don't know what to do. 'Boot' says I need to load the kernel or something (might have said something else)

Would this be the same process to install ubuntu on my 2006 macbook?

have you tried this?

Quote

In the GRUB menu, highlight “Try Ubuntu”, and press “e” to edit it. In the editing screen, scroll down to the command line options, where it says “quiet splash”. Delete “splash” and replace it with: video=VGA-1:1368x768e reboot=pci, force [EDIT: For those of us using the Dell Venue 8 Pro, you need to use this line instead: video=VGA-1:800x1280e reboot=pci, force That accounts for the different resolution of screen.]
