Thoughts on AC:Rogue?

780blzit

Giving Ubisoft your money is a sin still.  Am I right?

It's like trying to train a dog… you have to punish bad behavior, but they never learn anything unless they get an occasional treat when they do something right. But for me, that means Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Anno 2070, and Child of Light.

There are just way too many games these days doing Assassin's Creed better than Assassin's Creed. This franchise has been off my radar for years. It's coasting along on it's name recognition and marketing budget.

What the ever-loving god is that??

Twenty-effing-two games?? That incredible I though there were like eight, at the most. I haven't even heard of half of those :P Talk about milking..

Also, I have added something to my sig thanks for that!   :P

Your welcome Nup. The sad thing is most of the games that you have not heard of will get an "HD remake" so you can hear of them.

Edit: Example Assassin's Creed III: Liberation

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation was released on October 30, 2012, the same day as Assassin's Creed III. The game is available in a PS Vita bundle pack with a new crystal white Wi-Fi Vita and a 4GB memory card.[10] In Japan it was released under the title Assassin's Creed III: Lady Liberty.[14]

It was announced on September 10, 2013, that the game would be re-released as Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows via the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and Steam, respectively, in 2014. The game features visuals closer to III as well as updated audio, AI and facial animations. Additional missions have been added and some of the Vita-specific touch screen missions have been removed.[11] The game was released on the PlayStation 3 on January 14, 2014 in North America and January 15, 2014 in Europe. The Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 versions were released worldwide on January 15, 2014.[7][8] - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassin%27s_Creed_III:_Liberation and there are other AC HD remake games but I don't want to list them lol.

My god... quite frankly that's disappointing. You'd really hope they have enough of it.

Sigh.

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

I think AC series has the most games now. Unless I'm missing a series. CoD has 21 games.

For me it plays great, it seems to be a bit of a mix of AC 3 and Black Flag, so you play the Templar hunting the Assassins which is a nice change, not played much so far but its fun.

That actually sounds interesting, I might try this one out.

So far it's been assassins vs templars and it's starting to be boring tbh.

Those are the only two behemoths i know of... Not even driving games are on par with that.

I think Madden and NCAA football games have more. lol. Funny thing is Tetris still sells more copies than the AC series. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games

I'm digging it. And it runs @ 4k DSR on my machine at almost locked 60fps. The graphics aren't great but it is pretty damn fun.

Damn, 4k @ 60 fps? What's your setup?

Runs surprisingly great on pc. I get only around 35% gpu usage with everything cranked up on 1080p 60fps using a gtx 970. I will try running it with dsr later. Gameplay wise it is basically the same as black flag nothing new and interesting. I like the concept of playing the bad guy/templar though.

"Graphics and gameplay are not mutually exclusive."

"Nvidia, AMD, Intel, or whatever company out there has only one end goal and that is PROFIT.

If you think these companies exist for any other reason you're gonna be disappointed my dear. CAVEAT EMPTOR"

Same here, runs well but so far it's been boring as hell.

>Goto talk with a guy

>Go back to your ship

>Sail to an island

>Talk to another guy

>Go back to your ship

And repeat, what the hell ubisoft?

Couldn't they come up with more repetitive gameplay?

Capped at 62FPS

45-50% of the 290X

A 270x could max this out.

DSR/VSR is looks quite nice and still performs very well.

The game is okay so far I've played about 3 hours in,.., but the same mechanics again.... nothing new.

I really didn't like the fact is has no major antialiasing options.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
