Be Quiet vs Seasonic for my build

Go to solution Solved by quan289,

The BeQuiet Pure Power L8 is a solid PSU. It performs very well for a group regulated power supply. Personally, I would go with the Seasonic G SSR-450RM, as it's a better performing power supply with higher quality caps.

Both power supplies would be plenty for your system.

Hi, I wondered if I could have some advice. I'm building a new PC and I've narrowed the power supply choice down to two:

Seasonic SS-450RM 450W

Be Quiet! BN181 Pure Power L8 530W

My dilemma is whether the Seasonic is powerful enough for my system and also whether coil whine is an issue on the Seasonics? It seems to come up quite a lot in user reviews. The alternative is the Be Quiet which has 80W more power and seems to get really good reviews.

My build is as follows and I will be mildly overclocking the cpu:

CPU: i5 3570K

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660

Motherboard: MSI Z77A G45

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8gb

SSD: Samsung 840 250gb

HDD: WD 500GB

Optical Drive: Lite-On CD/DVD Burner

Thanks
