I was in the process of updating the bios on my motherboard when it suddenly crashed is there anyway to recover the bios to a working state?

 I have a TA970 ver. 5.x

Im not really a "pro", but have you tried to flash the bios?

If not try that.

You need to have access to the BIOS before re-flashing it.

Are you completely unable to boot? You most likely have bricked the board.

Luckely for you the bios chip is removable on that board, so you can buy them on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313&_nkw=TA970+ver.+5.x+bios+chip&_sacat=0&_from=R40

Are these flashed chips?

Thats where it crashed, i was in the middle of flashing when it froze, now it just starts up but nothing shows up

My PC would also start up, sound and everything except for the screen.

After I flashed the BIOS though I could see the screen again.

Are these flashed chips?

Most likely. There would be little to no reason to sell non-flashed chips to regular consumers. But, as I wrote, watch out when you buy stuff on eBay

Biostar support (ba dum tis?) should be able to help you. I think all you need is a new rom, it's socketed on your board so.. should arrive in a few days if you're lucky.

well i went into the site and they have the bios up for download(http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=623#dl) would that do or do i have to contact them?
