Gold HTC One (for linus to salivate over)

The title pretty much says it all.

http://www.christianpost.com/news/htc-one-smartphone-now-available-in-24-carat-gold-99036/

I'm sure Linus would be intrigued seeing as he loves the htc one. I personally don't think buying a 24 carat gold phone is really that practical seeing as they are mobile devices and prone to scratches etc.

Obviously the target audience is for rich business men, actually not even, probably Roman Abramovich would be the only person that would buy this. Definitely not this poor uni student :(

i don't really get while people want golden phones because they will be outdated in a few months, but I have no money so I don't know what goes on in the minds of rich people.

At least this is actually reasonable.  It looks amazing and it's a great phone.  If I miraculously had $3000 to burn I could see myself buying one of these.

Not like that terribly gaudy looking diamond-studded iPhone 5 that costs like $100,000 and looks like a 5-year old had too much fun bedazzling everything she owns.

Who would want this? You'd drop it in 5 mins, and it would get scratched to hell.

And then you'd buy a new one cause you just don't care about the money.... I would buy this if i was a millionair , why not :P

this is the most terrible idea i can think of. would scratch and dent if you squeezed it too much because gold is pathetically weak and malleable, it's really conductive and needlessly heavy. gold is honestly a completely useless metal in all circumstances except for very specific computer circuits. It's valued much higher than it's worth.

It's not solid gold.  If it were it would be way more expensive.  Its the same aluminum that the normal htc one is made of just plated in gold.

How reliable is this source? It seems to be some religious propaganda news site. The most popular article is about a rally of "ex-gay" people.... <_<
