When are u guys expecting a 950 / 950 ti

ctxgaming

So the gtx X50 (ti) series is by far my most favorite one. Not cause i cant afford a better card ( i have the 970 ) but its a quite decent card that can play most new games on high to ultra and if not the medium or for suure 720p ultra. Reminds me of my god ol' 650 amp!

So to the question. When do you think the 950 / 950 ti will come out and whats your opinion about the GTX X50 cards

My best guess is just before 1000 series is announced. The 750 ti was baby Maxwell, so the 950 ti will likely be baby Pascal.

I wouldn't assume just because they did it once. that they'll do it again.

It'll probably be a die shrink 750ti maybe a bit better and a little more CUDA cores.

He's saying there's probably not going to be a 950 or a 950 ti at all.

presonally i dont know what to expect out of nvidia now they did the X50 and x50ti's for 3 generations then in the middle threw in a boost and during the 3rd gen made it a new architecture. I think if they do have it, it will be pascal and that it will be around August/September like a labor day launch maybe

its GE (pause) TechNicks

These guys are idiots. When AMD releases their new card lineup. Nvidia will most likely respond with a 950ti. Whether it will be Maxwell or pascal noone but nvidia can guess.

I think Maxwell will be around for 2 product generations before Pascal, like Kepler (600 and 700) and Fermi (400 and 500).

GTX 750/ti are based on the GM107 core, so maybe they'll bring in the GM207 core with the next one. Or maybe a nerfed GTX 960 on GM206. No real reason to update it as of yet though.

I am not so sure here. I dont think that the 950 (ti) would be a compeditive respond

the 950ti maybe a rebranded 750ti just with a bit more bean. amd aren't the only ones who rebrand cards.

If 950ti ever comes out I would expect it to be anywhere between april-june.

IMHO X50ti is best budget Nvidia card.

And why not? As far as I know, Nvidia made a killing off of the GTX 750(ti), and Nvidia likes money so it would make sense that they would do it again. You could argue that there should be a 2nd gen Maxwell before Pascal, but that would be too logical. Nvidia's lineup has always defied logic, increasingly more so with each generation. I'm just thinking that if nvidia does release a Maxwell-based GTX 950(ti) the low end market will stagnate again, which would be a crying shame considering how much the 750 ti shook everything up. In that case, they may as well not produce any low end 900 series GPUs because the no one will buy a similarly performing 950ti when they could get a 750ti for less. We've got 3 options: baby pascal, stagnation, or nvidia does nothing at all. Personally, I like the first choice, I'm trying to be optimistic here.

I don't think the 960 is a strong enough card to justify filling that price point. If anything drop the price of the 960 and do a 960 Ti.

Was the 750 ti one??

When it launched yes it was(until AMD lowered the prices). Even now its a decent card.

If nvidia had the same prices like their low-mid end gaming cards like amd. That would possibly give us a perfect sweet spot
