So a 7870?

I've gotten my hands on both a 560 Ti and a 7850 side by side and the 7850 does better.

As for the 7870, it will be much, much better than the 560 Ti and better than the 7850.

The 7870 is a great card. The 7850 is better for it's value but is obviously weaker than the 7870. They are both great overclockers.

Def next gen.. Go for a AMD 78XX or 79XX or a 660 (non ti) ... I know budget wise the GTX 7XX will be more expensive but maybe also worth a thought?!

30fps is not an enjoyable experience at all and ofcourse it's not going to sit at 30fps constant it's going to fluctuate so it'l be most likely less than 30fps average :/ There are way more powerful gpus out and with the outcome of 700 series 600 series are showing some nice prices and even more so on the amd side

yea 660 is good deal too, its not overclocker, but it has cuda and physics and its basicly best bang for buck currently @ nvidia camp, but it has lower graphical performance per buck than amd, mainly because amd can overclock so much

78xx series will be perfectly fine for next gen, as long as you dont use antialiasing on more demanding games, and turn off pointless fx effects like motion blur, lens flare, bloom,...

I got that exact same card in my system at the moment. It is quite powerful and can run any modern game on moderate settings, but the power consumption is off the scale and it runs quite hot and loud. I will upgrade to Haswell soon and swap that GPU for a 7 series nvidia card.

Personal experience running a 560 Ti 448 core (EVGA Classified Ultra), I get 50-60 fps on BF3, ultra settings, 1080p. I'd expect it to dip down a bit for BF4.

I would, however, get a 660 Ti or 760. 760 is particularly juicy at that price point.
