i dont quite get why you would cut of the rear fan. Isnt it already a 120mm fan/rad mount? If not then why not a 140mm rad in the back?

in order to have clearance for my 60mm thick top rad, and i don't want to mismatch fan sizes it will wreck the asthetics

ok good. and why do you want to replace the mesh in the front cover with mesh? To match with the mesh on the 5.25" covers?

exactly, and to match the mesh on the top and back as well

if you haven't worked out already i'm a little neurotic about aesthetics

okay, i know iv'e already started this thread, i just couldn't work out how to attach my updated plans without creating a whole new thread:

speaking of my updated plans, here they are:

post-16686-0-18066700-1372823153_thumb.p

-replacing pci-e covers for non-perforated ones to keep dust out

-cutting out area for optional 120 or hopefully 140mm radiator

post-16686-0-96693600-1372823162_thumb.p

-taking out stock mesh and 5.25 bay covers and replacing with custom mesh to match top and back

-will be having a stealth-ed optical if there's room with all my radiators

post-16686-0-10735800-1372823172_thumb.p

-cutting out bottom fan grill for either 420 or 360mm radiators

-possable room for optical drive (again)

post-16686-0-06858100-1372823179_thumb.p

-cutting aprox. 1" in from corners of side pannel

-cutting holes in acrylic for case handles

post-16686-0-40932100-1372823192_thumb.p

-cutting out current mesh/hotswap/fan controller and replacing with custom mesh

-mounting either 480 or 420mm radiator

-for those interested i will also be wrapping my casing in carbon fiber film as well as making custom basement and motherboard cover (like sabertooth)

- i will also be squezzing 3hdds, 2ssds, a 240mm tube res and seperate pump in

-im weighing up between 140mm radiators and 120mm radiators, at the moment im leaning toward 140 because it seems to fit better and ill get slightly more surface area

-the options for me are 360mm rad (front) + 480mm rad (top) + 120mm (back) = 960mm surface area OR 420mm rad (front) + 420mm rad (top) + 140mm (back) = 980mm surface area

-the only problem with 140mm rads is that im never going to be able to fit an optical drive, which is a dis advantage as i will be using partly as a HTPC

-note: all radiators will be 60mm thick

-so what do you guys think, can it be done? 120mm or 140mm rads? any other modding requests? as this will be a build log in a couple a weeks.....
