So guys, I'm curious. What is worth more for you? I Kelly blue booked the value of my car and it was 3300. My computer is not worth that much despite the fact that my 01 Honda accord has lost some significant value in recent years. I estimate my PC being worth no more than a thousand. It's old too.

 

Props to you Linus for achieving a super build of vehicle quality.

 

In general though, do you calculate the value of your rig based what you spent or what someone would pay for it? Seems like price would be hard to judge if it were the latter.

And my computer costs 2500€ :)

The way I look at it, I'm on a computer for 12+ hours a day (work and personal time combined). I'm in a car for less than 2 hours on average. So, it seems to make sense where I should invest more money  :P

I don't have a car or motorbike, but at one point my mountain bike was about twice the value of my PC  :D But it's the PC, bike wasn't that expensive. It had a much, MUCH bigger personal value for me.

 

This is why I think Linus will regret selling his bike, one often gets much more attached to a certain two-wheeled vehicle, than to a 4-wheeled one. My 2 cents  :)

So basically my computer cost more :P
First was a car for my bday so guess that didn't count, (98 Ford Falcon)
I've bought a car with a fried ECU 50 bucks at the tip, and then got a ECU and installed it myself for another 50 bucks at a wreckers. (93 Ford Festiva)
got a car for free that was working from a mate who just needed it gone. ended up giving it to my sister for her 18th (89 ford laser) 
Currently driving a ex work ute, its had a hard life towing heavy loads it wasn't designed for (98 Ford Courier)
And currently fixing up two RB31 skylines series 3 bought them both for 500. most I've ever spend on the initial purchase :P

Not a fan of buying a working car. I like to fix em up, makes it more personal. also gives you a nice profit when you sell them :P

I don't have a car...but I do have a $1600 bike! So pretty much the same as my computer.

I don't own a vehicle at the moment, but if I did it'd likely cost less that my computer does.
