Do You Think a 780ti 3GB Card Will be Enough for GTA V?

TrueSoldier

Pretty much says it all in the title. I currently have an i7, ROG Formula V, 16GB RAM, 500GB samsung pro SSD, and then an EVGA 780ti 3GB card. I want to be able to play GTA V across my 3 monitors, all 1080p, so I think the resolution is 5760x1080. Is 3 gigs of VRAM enough or do you think I'll be experiencing serious frame drops? If so, what other cards are there that are a good choice? I don't think throwing in a second 780ti would help, but maybe I'm wrong. Any ideas?

Considering the GTA V system requirements are relatively low, you should be alright, however a 4GB card would be better at that resolution.

Yes, of course it will, why are you asking?

The 780 Ti is a flagship card

EDIT: Just read it, you have 3 monitors, You should still be fine

With lowered settings, sure. Not at high settings though. We don't know how vRAM heavy it's going to be, so we can't say if 3GB will be enough or not.

should be fine, but in far cry 4 I pul 2.5 gigs of vram usage. cant imagine what triple monitor would be like.

that being said, game isnt out yet. its all speculation

Well, probably because of the resolution, vRAM and single card? A single 780Ti across three monitors isn't particularly powerful.

All speculation right now until the game comes out. We do not know how well the game is optimized until users try it. Hold off on buying a second 780 Ti.

the minute you instal mods/textures that 3gb frame buffer could become an issue.  Should be ok though otherwise.  Then again this is all speculation since the game isn't out yet...

If it can run on 10 year old hardware it can run on your 780, expect ultra on 1080p

Thanks for the info guys, I understand it's speculation but I figured maybe people with experience with this could extrapolate, never thought about how well optimized it might be though, my bad. Are there any other cards that have a larger amount of VRAM? the Titan has 6 right? But that's shared across two GPU's so it's still pretty much 3?

It will most likely be case of turning of msaa down or off, if you are going to be affected at all. That is assuming the game doesn't like terribly in the first place.

dont worry about your 780  for another generation or two its a very power card  contrary to what people are saying 3 GB is more then most games need right now
