What comes next? GTX 1080?

The reached the end, same with the 9800 or more recently AMD with the 7990. As dumb as it may sound, 1 is not a good marketing number. and if they start going with 1000, that means they will have a terrible naming scheme for the next 10 years, or they will have to change it. I think they will do something similar as what AMD did, short the main number to 2 digits (Specially considering every card since the 400 series ends in 0) and add a letter, maybe representative of the tier of the card (A high, B medium, C, low) But it's up to them. As long as they keep it simple enough it should be fine.

I want it to be GTX 1080.

I have a 1080mm radiator, and saying I'm cooling my GTX 1080 with a 1080 rad would be 10/10

But you would be forced to play at 1080p PAM PAM PAAAAAAAAAAAAAM

I think it's likely they'll change the naming scheme what with all the hyping up of Pascal and "1080" having too many zeroes. And the "GTX" series has gone on for almost ten years now. Gotta make it seem more fresh somehow.

They could skip the 1000 series and jump straight to 1100. Like GTX 1170, 1180, 1180m and so on. I mean, they did skip the GTX 800's for desktop.

Im actually guessing, it will be somthing like GOLIATH -Z or BEHEMOTH Z or maybe TITAN X QUAD BIOS lol they have alot of option's and I dont really care what it's called aslong as it has the horse's under the waterblock ;)  :D I hope I get a card that can do 4k at 144hz without paying a thousand dollar's and maybe with the new gpu's launching we can all run dual titan x's or maybe I will run another 980 TI instead of running max setting's but still thinking about how much money I had to spend. I dream about having a hardline advanced pc with bad ass resevoir's like linus and jayz2cents but I just dont have the money for a 800$ experiment that would 9/10 be successful with the help from you guy's in this elite community and youtube video's and it is somthing I really want to do soon but just get my wallet rekt by buying NVMe ssd's because well I alway's go with the want's and not need's with PC's because I remember 10 year's ago running graphics all on low and having to stay in a small place in a map to be able to react on fps games without a huge fps drop to 20, lol. Coffee is engaged, Peace

A card that can do this, that would be slim chance even for Pascal with its HBM and the rumored 6000 cuda cores. I'd say perhaps put 2 of those Pascals cuz there will be no GPUs until 2018. I am also going to WC and OC one of those...

Name it the same as the chips. Since it's GP100, let it be GTX GP100 (for highest end HBM GPU)

GTX GP104 for high end GDDR5X card

GTX GP106 for mid range card GDDR5X or GDDR5

GT GP108 for low end card GDDR5
