How to remove audio track from MKV file?

i have a mkv file with 2 tracks, and i want to delete 1 of them.

the reason is i want to play it on the TV and its defaulting to the other 1 "tv options screwing up when changing".

Step 1) Remux a new file.

Step 2) Delete Old File

Use MKVtoolnix to mux a new file and then delete the old one. You can also change the default audio track and keep both.

Is mux a typo?

Nope

An MKV file is just a container which holds other files, like a video track and in this case two audio tracks.

Creating this file is called muxing (multiplexing, taking several streams and creating one single file) and when you play the MKV file it is being demuxed (taking the single file, and breaking it up into separate streams for the audio, video, subtitles and so on).
