Motherboard cost more than my CPU

 

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP7 = £160.

Intel Core i5 3570K = £155

My i7 3770k + Asrock Extreme 4 z77 + Noctua NH-D14 combo for I think 300 euros (365 usd).
 

Otherwise my GPU for about 220 euros I think (267 usd).

The 980 for sure. Its almost double the price of my 4790K and triple the cost of my mobo.

GPU was the most expensive single part in my build, gtx 670 ftw s2 ... no regrets though, three years old and still going strong

I think my friend has a GTX 670 in his rig. I swear it's the greatest GPU ever made. I don't think he's ever had to go below 'high' quality settings in any game, as far as I can remember.

I can't remember what I paid for it, but I'm pretty sure my i7-2600K is the most expensive part in my main rig. Close second is my GTX 760 SC, soon to be an EVGA GTX970 SC so that will be the new top part. 

 

Most expensive part of my Girlfriends PC is also the CPU. i7-5820K. 

 

My media center is likely the motherboard. Asus Maximus VI Impact

 

Backup rig, most expensive part is the case I think (800D), but if you go by what I paid, then the GPU. EVGA GTX 760 SC.

 

And my media server is probably the custom built case (2x Antec 1080B used to build a monster cube case) With the paint, extra sheet metal and time to assemble, this is easily my most expensive part, sadly it's 8 years old now and will soon be retired.

We do. As a point of reference, take US prices, convert to NZD, then add shipping, 15% tax, and markup
