The tale of Lauren

Hi there,

This is my first build, but who really cares. It came about when i decided that my laptop was not cutting it; single core, 3GB of RAM, cheap and nasty. The quest for a PC that could fit my budget first began in June 2012, as I said before the laptop wasn't cutting it, so I decided to go for the AMD side as the platform was cheaper and my friend had the same setup so I knew it would work. Thus, it was decided I would buy the FX4100 and asus m5a78l-m/usb3 as a starting point and use a second hand case I got free. Coupled with a CiT "750w" powersupply. Suddenly she was alive and she was named Lauren. She was born without a Graphics card and a case with nice airflow so she was not tested properly until she was old enough to grow a Graphics card and at the start of 2013 she grew an EVGA GTX 660 sc edition.

She was a messy PC and couldn't keep her cables in a bunch.

She was an ugly signet, waiting to flourish into a graceful swan. This great change came about the anniversary of her creation where she underwent a metamorphism. When she emerged from her cocoon she was dramatically changed.

Unlike her previous shell this one provided space for all of her cables!

And thus Lauren was completed until such a time that she needed to change again.

She had a final specification of

  • AMD FX 4100 CPU @ 4.3Ghz
  • Corsair XMS3 RAM 8GB
  • ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3
  • EVGA GTX 660 sc edition
  • Arctic cooling freezer Xtreeme rev.2 CPU cooler
  • Cit "750w" powersupply
  • Seagate 500GB HDD

Thank you if you read her story or just looked at my bad pictures

Chris

P.S.

I tried to do something different with this build log and write a very short, probably bad story. I'm surprised you read this far actually.

An album of all the pictures can be found here.

Haha, enjoyed the story. I hope Lauren sticks with you to the end, and let's hope you don't cheat on her. Not a bad build. Should get the job done when it comes to gaming :)
