Meet the BenQ BL2711U - 10-bit UHD IPS Monitor for Professionals

Michael McAllister

http://www.maximumpc.com/benq_builds_27-inch_4k_ips_monitor_designers_2014

BenQ is going to release a 27-inch UHD IPS display - the BL2711U.  It will feature 100 percent coverage of the RGB color space, provide 10-bit color, 4ms response time, and 20,000,000:1 contrast ratio.  This is aimed at creative professionals in 3D animation, video, and photo production.  The company also equipped the display with a USB hub and auto-pivot technology.  Connections include  DVD-DL, HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, and headphone jack.  It's safe to assume that it will run at 60Hz on DisplayPort but is not yet verified.  No pricing is available yet.

Edit: Not the first.   :)

Almost my dream monitor - just waiting for 120Hz to appear on IPS. That (and budget limitations) is what's keeping me 1080p

And even 4ms response time. I'm mildly impressed.

Thanks.  I was probably thinking 144Hz IPS (but 144Hz is TN only).  One can dream...

Really? MLG, TI4, LCS, EMS One Katowice, their 144Hz monitor can be found everywhere in E-Sports scene.  Consoles can't handle 60Hz why would BenQ even market these to consoles?

EDIT: They mostly cater to competitive E-Sports, the RIGs are usually powerful enough to handle the games, G-Sync doesn't make sense here.

Yeah lol this, BenQ are the kings of 144Hz. I don't see many consoles supporting 144Hz these days

IPS > Gsync/Freesync

I'd take 144Hz TN G-Sync over IPS any day lol

But G-Sync makes things so much better for 4k since games struggles to get to 60fps on those monitors.
