There's a thread about it somewhere here...

I think it's agreed that the game is fucked up.

All it is is the developers wanting bad publicity. Any publicity is good publicity to some people.

If you think Hatred is crossing a line, you've been hypnotized by the wuss tumblr culture.

It's a video game.

I love Postal. I love games that aren't politically correct. This is exactly what I want. I have no problems with Hatred.

It's just a game that's just relying on its shock value and notoriety to move copies. It's pretty much the Human Centipede of video games.

See, that's exactly the problem. You two are completely desensitized to the violence and sheer perversion that is in that game.

That is why people take issue with the game. You're apathetic to what it actually stands for, and depicts.

Do you have a problem with movies that are just as bad too?

What about games like Call of Duty/Battlefield where military factions go on killing sprees at the expense of the opposing faction?

How about Grand Theft Auto where you can kill innocent bystanders with little to no repercussions?

You can argue specifics all you want, but killing is killing in video games.

Yes, but the delivery is different.

Your movie comparison is flawed because you're watching someone else do it, you're not in control and doing it yourself. There's a slight disconnect between what's happening and the user. More so than a video game where you're controlling what's happening.

Your Grand Theft Auto comparison is flawed; killing innocent civilians isn't the single point of the game, nor is it even a side mission afaik. Can you? Yes. Guess what. You can in real life too. Doesn't mean you should.

CoD and Battlefield are soldier vs soldier, both armed, not one armed man going up against innocent, unarmed civilians. Soldiers know what they're getting into when they sign on.

At the end of the day, everything you mentioned desensitizes people, yes.

However, this game takes it to a whole new level, and is much worse than the others.

Don't get me wrong I personally am not one of those people who go like "omg games make people become killers" but this game is a bit too much maybe even for me. And also it is a game that would become boring very fast anyway. So either way not a quality game.

Specs of my PC:

CPU: AMD FX 8350  Motherboard: Gigabyte 990XA UD3  GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce 2GB  HDD: WD Green 2TB SSD:  Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD RAM: Corsair 8GB(2X4) PSU: CoolerMaster G650M

I do agree that its pretty over the top. But as I said in another thread, I don't believe that means they don't have the right to make it. Freedom of expression doesn't work if it only applies selectively.

I won't be buying it, though. And I'd prefer to live in a world where no one else did, either. :P

I'm glad to see so many responses on both sides so here's mine. I personally feel like there's a line not to be crossed when it comes to games and movies, if you take this game for example the concept for it has never been done in a movie and besides postal the game it hasn't been done in games ether but that brings up creative expression right so for one to be creative he or she has to have the freedom to do what they want but this to me is to far with all the shootings we've had and are having its not right
