970 vs 980 on Asus ROG Swift

A99

Is it worth it to go for the 980 over the 970 on that beast of a monitor? I'd like to play games like Tomb Raider and and Bioshock Infinite on Ultra with some AA. Will either of the cards be able to run Star Citizen with medium-high settings when the PU hits? If a 970 will suffice for now and maybe upgrade to 2 970s for SC?

I would go 970 SLI over a 980 for that monitor.

Two 970s with that beast of a monitor would be a better idea then one 980, so get a 970 now, save some more money and grab a second 970 a while later.

SLI 970s doesn't cost much more than a single 980.

I'm using SLI 970s on that monitor, and am currently playing Path of Exile and have it running nicely around 125-143 FPS, the smoothness is beyond incredible.

I still forgot to try ULMB mode now that I'm getting that many FPS.

Linus is my fetish.
