This is a very interesting direction that Amazon is taking... I like it... A brick and mortar store always feels more trustworthy than an online store...

When it comes to Amazon they're way more trustworthy than any brick and mortar store.

What was it Linus said? They will be the Buy 'N Large

It will likely also be a dispatch depot, I can't see them buying any small plots of land to house even a tiny fraction of their stock lines.

It will be just a showroom. You go try things then they order it for you...

If you can't get drones to deliver, make the people come and get their package directly at the store.

They better put one in Texas considering thanks to laws in place, residents have to pay sales tax online with Amazon like a physical store anyway.

When I think brick and mortar, I think jacked up prices to compensate for theft... And a salesperson whose sole purpose is to get you to spend money.

I'll take two Amazon reviews over an entire store of blue shirts telling me what they think is best (after they read off the spec card to you).

this is like eBay opening up their own physical store.

it feels...wrong lol. maybe it's just me

They have before dont know if there still around tho.

Op I could understand them building warehouses now that they have that same day delivery but a store is kinda weird since we have seen every year we are moving away from physical stores and buying online although if this would double as a warehouse it may work since i know there are still alot of people who like to go to a shop and see the products i know i still have fun playing with the computers in a computer store lol

For us Brits, I imagine it'd be like Argos. A shop in front of a warehouse-like deal where you can click-and-collect, or order an item into the store and pick it up the next day or something. Of course they'd have general stock in too for people just coming in to have a look around.

Wonder how this will affect sales tax.

I use Amazon quite frequently as I have a card that gives me 5% off all Amazon purchases AND I don't have to pay state sales tax.
