How to spell 'NVIDIA' ?

Maybe spell isn't the correct word to use for this topic, but on the internet people seem to write the company name in various different ways, here are some of the most common...

Acceptable:

Nvidia - first letter is capital, the following are lower case just like any other noun, the correct way to write things in general.

A little lazy but still acceptable:

nvidia - All the correct letters written in lower case, without capitalization or stylizing, I call it the 'lazy' or 'quick' method.

The way it's meant to be pl... spelt:

NVIDIA - this is how NVIDIA themselves write it on their website, documentation and various other places. (see examples)

nVIDIA - this is how they stylize their logo. It's more obvious in their old logo but it's also present in their current logo too.

I can't think of a reason why you should spell it like this:

nVidia

NVidia

...or any other version.

Is this important/does it even matter?

No, probably not, but you can't argue that everyone writes it in different ways, even the most reliable sources and well known tech personalities write in different ways... I think it's interesting to see why there is so much confusion on this topic, I don't think there's one right answer either...

I think it will be interesting to hear your thoughts... how do you write it and why?

Invidya

n = lower case n

N = upper case n

I'm glad that you aren't holding back this information from academia. Now we can finally put that to rest.

From the logo the "correct" spelling would appear to be nVIDIA, I personally just spell it Nvidia most of the time.

Its a logo and brand so it actually does not make any difference other than aesthetics to which letters are capitalized or not.

All of those options are correct, but nvidia chooses whichever they feel looks best for their logo and branding.

So basically this topic is pointless.

I agree.

However I don't think the topic is pointless, it wasn't designed to discuss which one is "correct" and which one isn't, but rather to discuss and find out what other people think and how they spell it... as I've mentioned I think there's no one right answer, but in the end you have to pick one when you choose to write the company's name on the forums or anywhere else, so the question remains... which one do you go for?

their logo is " nVIDIA " with the "n" matching the in size with the other letters and they only write it that way in their logo or in a spot where the word "nVIDIA" represent their logo, at any other time u will find it as "NVIDIA" in both documentation and product labels, as for what people use its nvidia/Nvidia or NVIDIA depending how lazy are u.

well since this is the internet and i dont really care about caps then i write nvidia, but formally it would be Nvidia because you always capitalize the first letter of a proper noun.

For adds and stuff all caps is easier to read.
