Horrible Frame Rates in Crossfire Setup

Current setup

gpu 1:gigabyte hd 7970 wind force ghz edition

gpu 2: xfx double dissipation R9 280x

motherboard: gigabyte fxa990 ud3 revision 3

ram: 16 gigs of 1666 patriot ram, dual channel

cpu: fx 8350

psu: corsair  ax1200i watt

hardrive: 1 tb western digital 7200 rpm

One thing I know about graphics cards is that since my gigabyte card is factory clocked higher then the xfx card then i shouldent even get near 100% scaling in games. When I turn on crossfire for battlefield 4 I go from stable 50-60 fps with a single card down to 30-40 fps. I have check my msi kombustor and it tells me my cards arent reaching anywhere over 55% usage.

All of my drivers are up to date and I made sure nothing else was running in the background. I even went as far as checking to make sure my gpus were both plugged into pcie 16x slots and not the 4x slots.

Im all out of ideas.

I know this may sound stupid, but did you enable Corssfire somewhere in Catalyst Control Center?

Are all the monitors (assuming you have more than one) plugged into the same card?

Crossfire will always have problems, so this may be some of them.

Remember to be a good citizen and choose a 'best answer' when your problem has been resolved!

(that way people know when a problem's been resolved)

Crossfire is broken in BF4 right now and has been for a while.

It works perfectly fine for me.

Make sure vsync isn't enabled in game or in CCC.

Also make sure crossfire is enabled, and that each card is getting enough power (check cables, check power limit if over clocking)

Since they're 2 different cards, are they clocked at the same speeds?

Then you are the exception. I've talked with AMD's community manager Sam and the driver team is aware of the issue but it's probably an issue caused after the July 8th patch.

Doesn't work like that, both cards drop down to whichever has the lowest speed.

I am not overclocking and I am enabling crossfire through catalyst control. I wasnt aware of any of the other ways of turning it on. I have dual monitors but bf4 is only running on 1 of the monitors.
