4ghz overclock club

70c under 100% load in prime 95 with stock intel cooler
:) can't go any further with this mobo sadly had it at 4.4ghz with 74c but it crashed the system since i can't change the vcore on the gigabyte z77m d3h this is my first build built it 3 days ago and already OC never OC'd before this but not that hard as i got it to 4.2 with stock cooler :) getting a z77x d3h so i can change the vcore and get it to 4.4-4.6Ghz with a antec kohler 620 maybe go beyond 4.8Ghz seeing as my i5 is handleing shit well at 4.2Ghz at the stock voltage no errors on prime 95 for 24 hours so seems it could handle it

New Build:i7 4770k @4.4ghz, Hyper 212 Evo, MSI Z87 GD-65 Gaming, Corsair HX750w, Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm, Corsair Vengeance 12gb DDR3 1866mhz, EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0 SSC

Old build/Little Bros New PC:Intel i5 3570K @4.2ghz, Stock Intel Cooler, Gigabyte z77m-d3h, Capstone 550w, Seagate Barracuda 500gb 5400rpm, Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3, EVGA GTX 660 SC R.I.P Tyson 12/22/03- 04/17/13

New member here then! ;)

Stable overclock @4.2Ghz, tested it in prime95 for 24 hours and ended up with no errors. (yey)

The temperature is about 66 degrees Celsius under full load. (I'm using the Dark Rock PRO 2 cpu cooler, not the best but clearly not the worst either.)

Love seeing all those overclocked Cpu's btw. :)

4.7 3570k H70 Water cooler aiming for 5 GHz with some very black magic tweaking

4.9 unstable P95 would not open up. increased the voltage to 1.475 and got P95 to start running but it crashed after 20 seconds

5002 not able to validate, crashed as cpu-z opened memory is retarded. tried everything but just wont work.

4.2-4.8 is a piece of cake on a 3570k.
not really, not all 3570ks are built equal, most cant get over 4.5, if they do they really have to crank up the voltage

  • 2 weeks later...
I have an AMD FX 4100 overclocked at 4.6GHz (Full specs below)

The thing is; I have had this frequency for a while now and wanted to push it a bit further as my temps are quite low (40 -50 C under load)

I game, render and edit videos and all is fine, however I was running Prime95 earlier and the worker threads encountered an error on the 3rd core

This only happens with stress tests, also the core clocks seem to dip sequentially.

System spec:

AMD FX 4100 @4.6GHz (Cooled with a Corsair H60)

AMD 6870

OCZ Agility 3 120GB

1TB 7200RPM storage drive

8GB DDR3 1333Mhz PYN RAM

Asus M5A78L -M LX

Evo Labbs 750 Watt PSU

P.S. In the picture it says 4.7GHz however, I had to scale back to 4.60. For now anyway ;)

On CPU-z it's saying my Core voltage is 1.476

NB, SB, HT, RAM all at defaults as far as I know, any help and/or guidance is appreciated

Thanks

- Rizz

Well, mine copes just fine :)

My ageing Phenom II, this is my limitation using two GT-15`s on H70, i get better temps using the stock fans at the cost of noise.

Wow how is that thing so cool? I must of done something wrong with my first build lol.

I don't think I intentionally overclocked my CPU. I have a 3570K which was maxing out at 3.8 in Intel Turbo mode, then went into the bios and did something apparently, I don't even know, and now under heavy load like video encoding, it maxes out at 4.22Ghz.
you probly turned off intel turbo boast and turned on the manufacturers turbo i know msi, asus, gigabyte etc all have the one click overclock

My first time overchocking prime95 for 8hrs everything is stable. Don't think I need to go longer unless I got higher overclock. What to try a safe overclock for my first time. Maybe down the road I'll crank it up higher.
