Be worried about ebola? (Truth?)

SirNumbers

My survival gear.

Nothing.

Why not? Basic gear is

multi tool

belt knife

change of clothes

basic fishing supplies (string + hooks, maybe fake lures)

Mylar blanket

Parachute cord (a must have for anyone, extremely cheap and strong)

some non perishable food

some water and means in which to boil water

fire starting implement (striker bar, etc)

A small collapsible saw

Basic stuff. Stick all that in a bag and your good to go for a bit

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

I'd say yes, but I'm a doomsday prepper and I think everyone should own one. No harm in being prepared.

As well as a bug out bag, and a gun (at the minimum, any gun you can hunt with for food)

Have you ever seen the TV show called doomsday peppers?

I hate that show. Its made to make any and all of us preppers look like insane fools, otherwise it wouldn't be good TV. Some of us are just normal people who realize that in any kind of serious emergency the government response time is a minimum of 2 weeks (how long did it take them to get water to the super dome?)

If you can, yes, if not, good luck. Bow and Arrow works as well, something to be said for long lasting ammo, and silence of operation

Well i don't see any problem with having some food, knife and (etc..) just in case, in fact that's pretty great. Nobody can tell what's going to happened and when !

Exactly, better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Oh, I forgot one other thing, a big ol' jar of high proof hooch, good for steralizing wounds, and passing time.

I've got an 80pound duffel bag of stuff sitting behind me. Alcohol that you can drink is also a great way to bribe your way past a FEMA checkpoint or into (or out of) a FEMA camp.

Thats what you do when you quote someone who posted a wall of text or a large picture, delete it and type -snip. Keeps down clutter and load times of pages.

Ok, so some more news

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/10/02/ebola-family-quarantined/16579953/

The family has been told to stay indoors and not receive visitors, however, that's an understandable overabundance of caution, what caught my eye was this passage

Health officials are now hoping to talk to 80 to 100 people with whom Duncan may have had contact. The patient is currently in serious condition at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.

A few hours ago it was possibly 18 people, now it's almost 100? Am I the only one getting the sense that these people are clueless?

Maybe you should go on the show to make peppers look better then. :)

Lol my prepping right now consists of a duffel bag, and a few guns. Can't/don't really consider sheltering in place where I live since I live 19 miles from an NPP.

that being said, I do plan on having a bunker one day, but mostly because having a bunker is fuckin ballin.
