This overkill if this is for slight editing and gaming.

Because he had a hard drive.

ya, this is uber-overkill, id say go for a gtx 970, and an i5 4690k, and for the mobo, an msi z97 gaming 5, that should drop the budget massively

You dont need a 4 tb WD black, a blue is mroe than enough, since you are already using an ssd for boot, the hdd will make no difference in performance.

Are you new to the forums???? read the Code of Conduct HERE WANT SOME AWESOME LTT THEMED WALLPAPERS??? check out XTanksSlayerX's wallpaper thread HERE

I would swap a few components around.

The EVGA Supernova G2 850W is cheaper and is one of the best psu's around at the moment.

I would go with 2 x 8GB Ram over 4 x 4GB.

The Crucial MX100 512GB SSD is over $100 cheaper and it is very good.

Swap the WD Black for a couple of 2TB Seagate Barracuda drives if you need that much storage.

Something like this saves you $400.

Also you can drop the psu down to a 750W even if you go SLI in the future.

The GTX 970 is also far better value over the GTX 980.

You probably won't notice much difference. G.Skill is good Ram though.

The Formula is a very nice looking board, but you probably won't need/use half of the features on it. If you are happy to pay that much then go for it. Otherwise something like the Hero or Ranger would do the same thing for $100 or so less.
