So my friend washed his mousepad...

Go to solution Solved by W-L,

He is using a Razer Imperator, the BF3 edition if I recall correctly.

Yeah tell him to check in Synapse 2.0 there is a surface calibration option that should be able to reconfigure the mouse to the mouse pad since he may have reconfigured it to the desk.

Hey there,

my friend has a Razer Goliathus and it was really dirty, so he decided to wash it. He just washed it in the sink with warm water and let it dry for ~18 hours, now he tried to use it and his mouse doesn't work on it, at all.

What could have gone wrong? He says it's perfectly dry which I would expect after 18 hours of drying.

Are you sure the mousepad is the problem? I usually throw mine  (I have Goliathus as well) into a washing machine and then let it dry overnight, works well for me.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

He tried the mouse on the table, no problem at all, then on the mousepad, no reaction.

Odd.

Everyone have a cool signature. I don't, so I thought I would write something.

- Cool right?

too shiny? maybe somehow

He says it's matte just how a cloth mousepad should be.

It's too clean for the mouse's liking  :D

Did he use any type of detergent or chemical on the mouse pad, I've washed old mouse pads before and never had this happen before.

Yeah that should be the case, it couldn't be me anyway as I use a QcK not a Goliathus.

Is there a calibration setting in software for his mouse sensor to specifically work better on certain surfaces, if he calibrated to a surface that is very different from the mouse pad it has a possibility of not working or skipping.

BTW if you know what mouse is your friend using.

Yeah tell him to check in Synapse 2.0 there is a surface calibration option that should be able to reconfigure the mouse to the mouse pad since he may have reconfigured it to the desk.
