asus gtx 770 vs sapphire r9 280 x toxic

i am thinking about buying a new graphics card and i am not going to upgrade for a couple of years and these are my options right now.
what i need to know is wich one is better for gaming and power consumption .

i am going to be overclocking this card 

 

system specs:

motherboard: msi z77ma-g45 
power supply : antic 550 w 80 plus platinum

processor: intel i5-3470

graphics card: evga gtx 550 ti oc (looking to upgrade)

really good air flow in the case

I'd personally go for the GTX 770 as the other one is "toxic" and you don't really wanna get your hands on that. :D:P

i was leaning towards the 770 because of the power consumption thing it will make that money diffrence yes it is going to take a long time to do that but i am going to be running this card for 2-3 years and it costs 20 $ dollars more

Isn't a gtx 970 in that same price range? It's a lot better than both of those

why don't you trust antec 550 platinum ? antec has really good PSU use to be one of the best

Unless you can find a 770 at an outrageously good price, the 970 is definitely the way to go. Incredible performance and lower power consumption to boot!
