Before criticising choices in regards to SSDs and processor, note that i got them all for free (WORK).

Do you think this build is capable for some gaming and lots of graphic rendering?

I previously used an iMac with the GTX 680MX and it was perfect for rendering.

I sold it and made enough money to buy the rest of the products and build this system.

Apple has great resale value LOL.

I will post pictures soon.

Tips on cable management and fan placement to keep everything cool will be greatly appreciated!

If you have extra "free" parts laying around, I'll always be here you know?  ;)

And yes, this should suffice intensive rendering processes.

It might even be overkill if a laptop GPU was enough for you.

This setup should handle games pretty well and you'll notice a big jump from your laptop graphics not to mention the rendering is gonna be a lot better too.

Thanks for your input guys... One more question.... The graphics card I'm using is a blower style cooler and my case is mATX....will the cooling be affected severely? The case seems pretty voluminous...

And I would LOVE some input on cable management...this is my first build but i want everything to be perfect...

Well as i figured out later, it was more CPU intensive activity than GPU because voxel rendering requires CPU performance. Well my i7 3770 did fine, so i guess the 4960X should destroy it, more so with an overclock.

And my free parts are waiting for you, come and grab em..(oops that came out wrong)

oh comon also welcome to the forums don't forget to read the code of conduct (coc) and to follow your topics to receive notification

Edit: hmm voxel renderingf also cable management just use the holes if you have them if you don't just cram them between the hardrive cage and the other side panel

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

BTW Guys do you want me to start uploading pics as I build? That way you can have a look at the progress and help me with tips on what to do and what not to do...

I don't have spectacular braided cables or water cooling or anything of that matter but i just want my build to look neat...

Thanks!

And i did read the code of conduct and I hope my post doesn't clash with it.

If you ever get to use programs for Voxel Rendering you'd understand how painful it is without a good processor. Nvidia's increasing focus on voxels is encouraging and I hope the 970 can help in acceleration.

Oh well...it's come ahead a fair bit since then....not as much as rasterization though.

Let's hope its implementation into games improves...
