windows 9 recent leaks, all the details so far

TAKE THAT BACK LONGHORN WAS AMAZING

Yeah, so amazing.

I really like these changes. Maybe I'll finally upgrade from Windows 7 once this is released (assuming they don't royally screws up something).

I am not so sure I like the new control panel though. I hope you can customize the Metro app section in the start menu as well.

Nice try. :)

If that was the case, while Vista would run better for the majority of people, as it would have no alpha blending effect to render, and continue to use the CPU to render and not the GPU. It will look like an OS from 2001, in 2006-07. Like MacOS 9 again Windows 2000.

Windows finally has well.... Windows.. Back. This is cool, they might just get my money if they scale back on the DRM, hopefully but I'm doubtful that will happen.

I'm not that interested in the UI, I want to see what are the real changes.

Funny how all these people complains about Windows 8 and 8.1, when they never tried anything else above Windows 7.

Still don't like how the Applications open. They seem less functional and appear just to be  more flashy

My one complain from the screenshot is why can't they combine the Setting In Metro UI together with Control Panel. The PC setting looks ugly in a little window

Isn't this old news? I seem to remember these being out a while back? Either way, yay Start menu. Even though it's not how I want it.

What do they know of England, who only England know?

"Well that's what I always said I wanted to be remembered for, for being honest. Nothing else is worth a damn"

Not at all. The old screen shot, and there was only 1, was this:

As you can see, they are different.

from the looks, i don't see any radical change, i just hope it could bring more feature without any perfomance hit, and make it as a free upgrade for windows 8 users that would be nice.

It's annoying to hear the constant hate on the Metro UI because it's perfectly fucking fine.

Once people hear a Opinion on the internet , they stick to it.

Well, it's nice to see the development from Microsoft's site. But I have always liked the start menu on Windows 8. I don't think it's a good idea to switch to something like this. I kinda like the idea about having the same "layout" on the platforms.

I don't mind it, I'd just not use it. it was easy to bypass on people at work's pc's but I'm not a fan of the performance of windows 8/8.1 things are fine, until something freezes or you use low end hardware. there's this weird choppyness in the design that piss me off and I have all them awesome themes etc. on windows 7 so I personally don't have a reason to tinker with win 8 to make it work for me. I'd also have to replace all the fugly flat icons with icons of my own that look better which isn't a problem if it's an OS that will stay but looking at the trends of today's technology everything gets a new version for every damn tweak made, so I'll pass until the retarded hype technology seems to follow nowadays goes back to normal and settles down.

I miss aero.

Edit: i take it back. i miss the way Vista and XP looked. it was so easy to see which window on the task bar was open, and it actually looked decent from start (xp if you changed the blue to black), and win7-8.x whenever i look at the task bar to see which window is selected i cant tell because the one is open is just slightly brighter than the others, almost impossible to see in a glance, and in XP/Vista the window that was selected was dark and looked like it was indented, you could tell which window was selected in a .01th of a second.

i really wish they fixed that. vista honestly was my favorite looking version of windows.

Personally, I think I might ditch Windows (especially if steam takes off on Linux) completely if the start menu is kept.  No company has ever pushed things forward by listening to their customers, only made current iterations better.  I will give Microsoft a chance to explain all this this nonsense, but could find myself going somewhere else.  (Hoping for a whole new OS from another vendor)

Listening to consumers is bad? dude I'm sorry but ignoring consumers and doing whatever the company wants is what causes shit to hit the fan in a company and then they have to reverse thrusters or suffer the consequences.
