What was the last OEM desktop that you have/had before you started building PCs

asim1999

Chips a little computer store in South Africa. Had an AMD K-6 processor in it.

Was in around 1998 at the time.

Only OEM computers I have ever bought are laptops, since laptops aren't very easy to build myself. Otherwise I build it.

An E-machines desktop with either a P4 or an APU. This was like, 7 years ago.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

My first PC I got from my parents. It was a new Acer Aspire X1700. After a few years, I got into computers and built my current rig. It's had some upgrades along the line and is still going strong :D

New to Star Citizen? Look no further!

I honestly couldn't tell you. My memory doesn't go that far back.

But if I had to guess it would have probably been some sort of Hewlett Packard desktop.

My Rig:

An HP Compaq dc7600 that I got for 175€ at the time. Used for few years before got enough money to build my current rig.

It was one of these:

This is also where I ripped my rig's secondary HDD (WD Blue 500GB) from. The cable management was, surprisingly, less horrible than my current rig (how is this even possible?)

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

I bought a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-450f around 2009 I believe, still runs like a beast but I did pretty much change everything on it.

Still have the OG CPU (i7 870) & Motherboard (MSI 2A9C) < Good luck finding drivers. But I added a GTX 470, Recon Fatality Sound Card, added some USB 3 ports to the back and switched the case to an Antec Lanboy Air!

I did just recently buy a Surface Pro 3 and I'm using that as my main machine now but I assume we're talking desktops only here.

Mine was one of these old Gateway computers that I got to customize!  We paid over $1600 for it and she even had a 17 inch crt monitor.  You could also snap the top and front color plates off and change them with the other factory colors that were included.

A Gateway DX somethingsomething. Had an i5-2300, 6 gb of 1333MHz RAM, a 5400RPM 1tb HDD, a 300 watt PSU, and a Nvidia GT 4something. I had made a couple modifications to it though and added another HDD, a 500gb 7200RPM one that I'm using in my current desktop and I replaced the GPU with my trusty 9600GT.

I can be a cynical a**hole at times. I apologize if I cause any offence at those time. I also occasionally have issues communicating my point. Extreme introversion + Photographic memory + Some other things.

Desktop: i5-4670k - 8gb 1600MHz - MSI 7850

Laptop: i7-4810QM - GTX 870m - 8gb RAM

Medion Akoya something, had HD 4350 & Athlon 7750 BE. Was awesome to be honest and it only costed me like 400€. Though the CPU was getting more than 115°C after 6 years (You may imagine the dust build-up lol). And ran everything on my 4:3 monitor on high/ultra.

Now that I think about it... None.

My dad built a micro atx computer in the early 2000's.. Than around like 2009-2010 my uncle built my sister and I a tower with an Athlon 64 x2, 2GB DDR2 and a 320GB HDD. It was the most amazing thing for me at the time. Than in 2013 I built my first gaming rig and still currently use it :)

EDIT: I don't know if would call this the last, but I still have it(and use it a little bit when travelling) is a Dell Inspiron laptop.

An old HP that I rescued from my sister. Installed Linux on it and didn't really use it when I went to university because I couldn't stand CRT monitors.
