Should LinusTech upload videos in 1440p or 2160p ?

I personally think an 1440p is becoming necessarry , cause i guess they have the hardware already (i mean camera).

I understand it would take more time to edit 1440p but not that much more. 2160p would definietly take more time but that res. is not yet necessary.

So what do you think ?

1440p yes; 2160p no I'd rather see 1440p @ 60 FPS

I see no point yet as the uploading would be a pain, also considering how he is not uploading art it doesn't need to look good. I don't think anyone needs videos meant to be informal to be 1440P.

*lets pretend that I have a 4K monitor*

I'd rather have him record higher and scale down to 1080p so the files aren't too large, easy to load and provide a higher quality than standard 1080p. :)

I think he already does that though.

I'm fine with the current setup. Because I can watch that. Plus so few people watch full screen, there's not that much of an advantage.

There are so few votes about 23 minutes into this thread that I don't think any votes will impact Linus's decision.

I don't really care. The videos look perfectly fine in 1080p, especially with all the effort that they have put into their videos in the past year or so.

Then again, I will still be able to watch it in 1080p if I wanted. And given the choice on YouTube itself, I would still most likely choose 4K, just to get a better picture quality, even if it isn't much on my monitor.

1440p. I know they have pretty good workstations, but I don't really know if they have enough RAM for 4K.

It doesn't matter to me. Streaming 1080p on my connection is hard enough, let alone 1440p or 4K.

I think that is part of the current upgrade at LMG. But it certainly holds some technically difficulties, otherwise they would've done this already.

who cares...

In first place: on my screen 1440p looks better , and i have the bandwith&horsepower.

Aaannd... hmm , i also think about some cases , when you have to watch/rewatch something uploaded nowadays , in 2017 and above (if this makes any sense).

I can't understand why people deliberately watch it in a small area rather than fullscreen.

I don't watch in a small area, I watch in theater mode, the size inbetween small and fullscreen.
