Please elaborate.

Amazon could help twitch grow like it has been and continue being awesome, or it could end up like youtube.

An interesting on indeed. Posted by PC gamer, It's rumoured that Twitch are making a deal with amazon!

How can twitch be cutting off cheques when they're owned by YouTube which is owned by Google O_O?

thats actually a possiblility. but honestly im more curious as to why? why does amazon want to get into video/game streaming? as far as i know they've had no former interest in it.  at least google made sense with possible youtube integration, which would have been cool.  i see no reason whatsoever to why amazon would want this

Wish they both would have a share but I wonder what amazon would try attempting.

nothing really, just give twitch what they need, while amazon eats all the profits, for them is a win win since twitch needed to expand is infrastructure badly, also google and amazon sharing a ownership is never going to happen these companies are big enough, to bid for a complete acquisition of smaller companies

Nope, it was all rumours.

In reality Twitch was probably in talks with both Google and Amazon, and Amazon offered the biggest amount of money.

Actually, it's far more likely that they offered similar money, but Twitch realized that Amazon would have a 100% change of passing regulatory approval, while Google would be a toss-up.

yeah makes sense. if you (the viewer) have amazon prime, the music gets unmuted. integration is never painless.

Probably won't unless you have rights to it in some way.

This sale also probably has relevance to Amazon's game console/media center Fire TV.  I was approached to take an interview for their new games division.  It seems like Amazon is making a big push towards a mini-console device.

I don't blame them either.  Although I am a PC gamer, I feel that mobile SoC's are only a couple years away from being just as fast as PS4 and Xbox One.  I always love the thought of answering the hypothetical question "Who will win the console wars: Microsoft, Nintendo, or Sony?", and the answer would be "None of the above."
