Don't you think that Linus has moved a little too far away from computer videos? your thoughts here!

ANNIHILATOR284

ok, a few videos here and there i did enjoy back then but now it seems as if he no longer uses a computer with barely 1 computer related video every week. i like presumably everyone else here started following him for his computer enthusiast related videos but then now i barely see any.

Yes, he doesn't do much PC Related videos anymore or well not as much as he did before.

but of course i understand that He can't keep doing PC forever since his channel is "LinusTechTips" not "LinusPCtips".

There has been no new hardware lately, no new CPUs, no new GPUs very few motherboards

Watching him review 25 versions of the 780 or 200 z97 motherboards is SO BORING

Tech is moving into different areas, while we are all PC enthusiasts technology is focus, and we all use a wide range of tech day to day, tablets, smartphones, led lights , etc etc etc so I am glad he covers this too

As new hardware comes out it will be featured, discussed and reviewed

There really is only so much he can do if there is nothing new out there, so he asks us what things he should get to review. Plus, Linus can't talk about stuff that he has a NDA on, hell he won't even say if he has a NDA on anything (the whole denying something is sorta confirming it scenario).

I'm sure the guys would love to do some old school unboxings and 30 minute videos on cases but honestly; what is there to do that on? Who even really cares anymore? Linus learned that the people really want short content but lots of it. So he provides that.

THIS. There hasn't been anything new on the PC end of things like graphics cards to review or make a video about, thus the slight depart from PC exclusive videos.

yes but its not satisfying enough, maybe we the community can come up with something, maybe he can make a video once a week resolving a few major issues the general community has been facing with their comouters

I would like to see more motherboard reviews, specifically the H97 chipset (or B85 or whatever) and some more z97 reviews. Everyone says "oh they're all the same" that's not true, different companies have different features, different levels of quality, etc.

It seems like he'll get 1 motherboard of each price class, and then leave it at that, I know that he can't pay for all of them and they're usually free, but I'd like to see more.

I said this a while back on the suggestions thread, a small section on the WAN show where he and slick pick a common trouble shooting problem at random (to be fair) and give their opinion on it.

He still does a lot of PC videos actually, he even has 2 build guides coming up very soon.

There are no new GPUs, or CPUs, or even new screens, he can't review all this stuff again.

There isn't really that much that he can do without it getting too boring. I would like to see some more budget stuff though (like the H97 motherboards or whatever), and maybe a few more builds. :D

I would like to see videos about software.

Slick is doing that now, apparently.

We've got Luke's Software Discoveries now, so we will get more software-related videos from that. Which is good.

I would also like to see some software videos.  Personally I'd like to see some video editing or photoshop tips & tricks, kinda like a tech quickie it could be a tip quickie.

Hopefully more hardware will come out soon so we can all watch fun new videos and build new systems.

Eh, it's technology these days. Besides, once there's new tech like the 800 series or Skylake, then he probably would do so again and probably do another watercooling build with it possibly.

It's all about the diversity in the content that most people like, I for example really like all the random off topic videos that's coming from channel super fun and I also really like the diversity Barnacules Nerdgasm.

TLDR: It's all about reaching as many people as possible.

I would actually say Linus does a fair share of pc related content, just not focused on the Linustechtips channel. For general purpose pc related videos you can find quite a bit on the Techquickie channel. But if you just referring to reviews and unboxings I will just repeat what everyone else has said, that there hasn't been a whole lot of new exciting (keyword) releases of late.
