Agreed. I made the switch to a wireless mouse not too long ago and it's a huge improvement. So much better not having the cable drag and it lasts a few weeks between charges (Logitech G703). I have wireless ear buds and they sound fine when listening to music but the delay when watching videos is atrocious, makes it completely unusable. Might just be bluetooth ear buds or the specific ones that I have that are bad for latency. It would be nice to be able to stand up and walk away from my desk without ripping my head off when I forget to take off my headset though.

Funny thing when i tried wireless headphones: Just because i was still used to wired headphones i still took them off when walking away, just to come back and notice how dumb that was. So i didn't even really take advantage of the wireless factor 😄

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Yeah, they sound good to me, no sub bass, but i already knew that before getting them. it's a weird sensation being able to hear music right in your ears but also be able to hear everything from the outside world as well. i've used open back headphones before.....but these are OPEN.

Think they'd be any good paired with one of those..I can't remember what they were called..but it was like a watch that vibrated bass around your body sort of thing?

I guess most wireless headsets are closed back due to having the battery located behind the speaker (probably, never looked at the teardown of them).

Wireless peripherals are awesome. Also agree that it's not worth it to go wireless for audio.

For me mouse and headet must be wireless, the keyboard I don't care since it never moves, I wouldn't want to have to deal with batteries for that.

Obviously wireless headset needs to be something dedicated and not bluetooth, i.e. a "gaming" headset.

I've been contemplating these as well, seems like a good idea but just don't think I'd be in situations where they're useful all too often anymore (used to before covid...)

Tried posting this in the retro forum and got told it isn't old enough yet. So it's coming here instead.

I bought my dads old gaming computer off him for 50 dollars. So I opened it up today to see what was inside (definitely a lot of dust though. Yuk). He built it himself about 9 years ago, at least it was all compatible. Ignore all the dust, haven't given it the clean it needs/deserves. What should I turn this computer into? IMG_20220618_092537792_HDR.thumb.jpg.7aa8497882e53a1765175c585a81bb21.jpg

To that i would say: "Have you even tried wireless?"

Other than charging every few weeks or switching out a battery every few months there is no drawback nowadays. Accuracity and latency is on-par with the best wired mice.

Or go one better: Get a Logitech Powerplay mouse pad and get a compatible mouse. You'll never have to worry about charging AND cable drag ever again.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Man if Logitech made a PowerPlay deskmat it would be game over. Especially if they made it where their wireless keyboards could have their own wireless charging abilities (though I'd be kinda SOL on that since I'm normie trash with an MX Keys for Mac lmao).

come on Logitech make an MX Keys with per-key RGB backlighting, a bit thicker for more battery, adjustable feet, and maybe a different key shape, I'll buy that shit all day long

You can take the charging pad and just slip it under your desk pad. That's how i use it. The actual chargin pad is pretty slim and parely noticeable under a mat.

The charging for keebs is a good idea though. But i'd think something like this would be extremely expensive as you'll basically have to build a desk-sizel charging coil.

It's been so long since I've looked at PowerPlay that I thought it was just a full-on mousepad. 🤦‍♂️Also in theory for keyboard wireless charging, you could get away with just having another smaller mat you can place wherever and having one placed somewhere sensibly in the keyboard (maybe just smack dab in the center).

Yes

Don't care

Don't care

---

The gist is, performance differences are minimal.  So features is what is most important.  My entire point is that if someone is complaining about the "cord dragging"--they clearly don't have it set up properly.  My wired setup has a virtually identical feel to any of the half a dozen or so wireless solutions I've used--except I don't have to plug it in.

p.s.

And no, I don't need YET ANOTHER device to have to remember to slap on a charger on a regular basis.  I already have 2 headphones, a tv remote, battery bricks, and a host of other things; I don't need to add more.
