Got Crysis Remastered on Steam since it was on Sale with 55% off so it's a good deal. Really keen to try it out because it's my first Game from Crytek:

512GB S22 Ultra

backl30.png

Through a promotion for employees between T-Mobile and Samsung, I got an unlocked 512GB S22 Ultra for $175 (Samsung gave me $1,100 off as a trade-in for my S21 Ultra). I wasn't planning on upgrading, but that was just way, way to good of a deal to pass up.

There's a lawyer office next to my work that's leaving town and she was clearing out of some the things she had. She was giving away one of her office desks (full size office desk) and I picked on up. As I was getting that desk moved out, she asked if I wanted her computer monitors.

She gave me this (34" SJ55W Ultra WQHD Monitor)

gallery01-heroimage-LS34-J550-WQNXZA-092

I'm still in shock.

Nice display!

.5" narrower than a G9, and yet 5 million times more practical.

Just picked up a Core i5 7600k, ASUS Z270i ITX motherboard, 250GB WD Black NVME drive & 16gb of Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz DDR4 ram for $430 AUD ($320 USD) will go well in my spare Ncase M1, just need a cooler, PSU & some fans, and I will have a working NAS again. I already have this motherboard which cost me almost this much when I bought it brand new 4 or 5 years ago!

Scored a Synology AC2600 Wifi Router for $50 shipped that needs a power adapter, they're around $200 new and a fairly good 'pro grade' router. My current router is fine but I don't have WPA3 so I got this and now I will. May retire my old AC router to work to bump up our Wifi speeds since our current router is slooowww, only getting about 100mbit in the shop and that PC is reliant on network sharing to run some programs and get some data so it's laggy AF.

Its a solid router, I paid the $200 and it was well worth it. Has more features than I use.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Awesome. I like stable networking gear because it means I don't need to waste time diagnosing flaky gear in my home. Company I scored it from is called Regency Technology, they've got an eBay store and seem to be a semi-large IT recycler for companies. They don't have a lot on their eBay store since I think they mostly do re-sale internally to clients from other clients but it's a nice resource to have to score deals from sometimes.

ESP32 CH9102X and 2xDHT20 finally arrived. Finally can replace the DHT22 and it's unreliable 1 wire circuit with a I2C one instead. The DHT20 is basically a AHT20 in a capsule package, makes it easier to mount on breadboards. I knew the AHT20 was pretty small from the data sheet but it's so small, it's the size of like 3 tiny resistors or caps.

As for the ESP32 I wanted a wifi micro controller. Trying to get micropython on to it was definitely harder than with the raspberry pi pico which makes me appreciate the Pico even more for how easy they made it for me to work with it. Oh and the ESP32 is a wide boi, I needed 2 breadboards to be able to get access to all it's pins at the same time, it's almost as wide as a pi zero.

A Headphone Jack would've been nice to have but I'm long over that so it doesn't hurt not having one. I'm glad tho that my daily driver is USB C again, Lightning is just weird and Stupid sometimes.

You can literally change the Battery in under 2 Minutes. Where have actual useful features in Smartphones gone ?

I have short Fingernails so I used the iFixit Spudher but other than that you don't need a Tool to open it up and then from there most of it is Phillips Head and the rest Torx, it's literally the anti iPhone. Speaking of which: As soon as I have the Fairphone setup I'm gonna have my iPhone 12 mini fixed under Warranty, Screen is broken or glitched where it's keeping itself at the lowest Brightness. I'm gonna keep the iPhone so that I can compare the experience on both Platforms at all times and also it's just for the sake of having one.

No pics: smartphones nearly all look the same.  I got a POS Galaxy A32 to use as a backup for my beloved Xperia XZ2 Compact--while I wait for a repair.

Massive, massive size difference between these two.  I much prefer the XZ2 Compact.  5.0" smartphones don't exist anymore, sadly.

Now I can view my Phone Screen with a decent Brightness level without other people also seeing what's on my Screen. Installation was super easy mostly thanks to the glass not being bad quality and flopping around.

Got an appropriate power brick (.5 amp more than it called for) for my Synology 2600 and set it up today. WOW! What an easy setup process and easy to use UI. I'm sold and will be paying through my nose for future Synology routers just to keep this easy user experience.
