You might want to consider getting a second hand 5D III

I don't have any full frame lenses.

I have a 400mm and a 50mm that are full frame.

They are not the best.

The 400mm is not sharp.

The 50 AF is horrible.

but if you'd set it next to Tamron's 17-50 2.8 you'd probably be surprised by just how much sharper the Tamron is (and not because it's a Tamron :D).

Canon had a 17-55 f2.8.

I might save for the used one.

Hahaha, without belt loops that's completely impossible indeed :D.
As for the 17-55 2.8; That's what I was saving up for when I found out about the Tamron 17-50 2.8.
It turned out to be a no brainer. The difference just isn't worth the premium you pay for the Canon.
Same goes for the Canon 24-70 vs the Tamron 24-70.

DSD even! What sample/bitrate does it do on WAV? 24/192?

Up to DSD64 though it can do dsd128 at dsd64 bitrate

and up to 192khz 24bit for wav/flac/aiff

for 45$ I can’t complain

i got it because my iPod can’t play anything more than 320kbps MP3’s, so this lets me play all my lossless stuff while retaining the same obscene battery life

Hahaha, that reminds me; I had a canon G9x and the original pouch for your belt was... I don't know, 35 bucks or something ridiculous. But there was also a shiny white one, 7 bucks, exactly the same thing but no one wanted a white one. You guessed it right, I got the shiny white one. I'm not a schooler but people still made fun of it. Sold it years ago, people still talk about that thing.
As for AF; I barely used it. I grew up using video cameras with MF and just got so good at MF that AF never could keep up. Nowadays with mirrorless cameras AF wins, so I only started using it after I had the 5D II, which is yeaaaars after that 17-50 2.8.
Never used the Sigma 24-70 by the way, so I don't know how that holds up to the Tamron and the Canon.

24/192 is what I usually digitize at so that's amazing. I can't think of a good reason to get one as I usually drive so I have a car radio (that only does 16/48, shht) but it's really cool that you can get something like that at that money, I'd love to try one out.
iPods never appealed to me. They don't sound great (My Sandisk Sansa Clip was way better than any iPod out there, back when) and having to use iTunes all the time is a pain in the ass. Also, indeed, AAC.
When you say the GUI/Interface is shit; Have you ever tried a Fiio? Those are horrid too. And they are ten times the price. That said, I can imagine the Fiio has a better headphone preamp.

Up to 128gb built in + a 128gb micro sd card, 256gb total

heavier than you’d think, it’s CNC’d aluminum and it’s just a brick of metal tbh, probably about as heavy as my iPhone 7 if you were to squeeze it into a little metal nugget

Hahaha, it's amazing what you can get away with if you don't give a damn ;).
XTi, that's the 400D for me. Those were hoooorrrid. That really was one that stood out negatively. It sometimes happens with Canon, one model is great, the next one really isn't. The 60D for instance also wasn't the best one. But then the 30, 50 and 70 were. I still have a 10 and 30D. Even those still take great photos if you don't mind a low megapixel count, and don't want to go over ISO 800 ;).
The trick to MF through a viewfinder is buying parfocal lenses. They stay in focus while you zoom. So you zoom in, focus on details, zoom out.
With a 50mm or larger it also works without zooming, but trying to focus on a 30mm or so, hopeless, especially on a full frame. Not using a large aperture helps I guess. And canon's 'beep' on more expensive models also does a lot of good :D.

Trying to figure out what cassette deck that is, some really fancy Technics or so?
Bokeh gives it away; That's not a fancy lens :D.
The astrophotography though, really cool! There are telescope camera mount adapters... :D.

Editing needs be, it's a bit of a waste if you don't shoot raw and edit with a 'proper' camera. You can fix so much with editing.
I recently bought an Olympus SH2 for 50 bucks. Reviews weren't too positive, but it has raw, 24x optical zoom and can do Full HD video, so I figured 'what the heck, let's give it a shot'. And it's by no means a mirrorless or DSLR camera but jeez, the pictures you can get for 50 bucks if you are willing to process them heavily...

M85! Dammit, I would have guessed right, had I guessed. I had one too, they are stupidly complicated but they do sound amazing... IF they work.
I can't say there's any great free photo editors. I love Luminar though, for raw editing. Mentioned it before here, recently, just not sure if it was with you :D.
I can't remember Samsung ever having made a good camera but then the ST68 was dirt cheap, right?
I had a Samsung that was identical to a Pentax except for the sensor. It was horrid, even though it seemed to be the same camera. And I had an NX at some point, got it cheap as a joke, it wasn't great.

they are stupidly complicated but they do sound amazing... IF they work.

Mine was working until a couple week or months ago.

Sad thing.

But sounds amazing I have a tape of a west German orchestra and it sounded great.

I did it while test my Sony MDR7506.

I can't remember Samsung ever having made a good camera but then the ST68 was dirt cheap, right?

IDK my dad got it in 2014 before a trip to the UK.

I will say its very rugged, its beat up so much.

I have 3 backpacks.

1 camelback for water.

2 backpacks

I have 2 camera bags

1 is a big Porta Brace.

the other is a cheap bag.

Funnily enough I was about to buy a camera bag but now I'm not going to bother as to be honest, a nice camera bag insert works more than perfectly, which combined with the PD capture clip means for me, there's very little reason to own a camera bag at all.

Anyway, my bags consists of:

- Reallyyyyyyyyyyy high quality and nice backpack (which was actually affordable) from Japan that is 6-year old and I've dailied an accumulative 4.5 years and has gone around the world at least thrice but might as well be mint condition, mostly used for travelling now.

- Mediocre (quality wise) high street branded backpack that I bought second hand for £10 (retails for £120, the quality is not worth retail...), currently my daily

- The new cabinzero addition, guess it'll become my new travel backpack

- Sub-£20 backpack used for hauling my climbing gear

- Sub-£20 shoulder bag mostly used for hauling my flying stuff

- My rather nice samsonite 3-way bag (albeit it's a little too padded thus heavy/can't carry as much) that is used when I need something more formal looking.

To be fair, everything has a use and I basically used my other 5 bags at least once every 2 weeks so

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

One of my bags is basically a production bag.

It's built like an absolute tank.

The handles are nylon with leather for grip.

It's made from denim.

What I use for a camera insert is a peilcan case.

It's like 15 years old and works great

This bag retails for like 150usd.

I got it for 5usd.

Because I got it from a surplus store from a college.

Any bag can be a camera bag.

I just slap a peilcan in it.

I did this to my backpack for air travel.

Haha, my nice bag is actually a licenced Lanvin (Lanvin en Bleu, Japanese market specific) and it was about £170 back then in the exchange rates. It's mostly ballistic nylon with a mix of full grain and top grain leathers (former used for the big pieces, latter used for small pieces like zipper pulls or strap ends). It uses metal hardware (minus the plastic clips but they are the densest and nicest clips I've ever used), the straps are insanely soft/smooth with no fraying (this is after 6 years) where it doesn't hold the shape from the adjusters either. All the important bits are double stitched with the shoulder straps being reinforced at the attachment points on both the top and bottom (i.e. 25kg for 2 months later, there isn't even a loose thread).

I'll pass on the pelican and just use my padded insert. Put it at the top of the bag and makes it easy to pull out my camera without having to open anything.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...
