I guess it's official: I'm collecting Gran Turismo obscurities, starting with the First Preview demo of Gran Turismo 4.

I haven't played a GT game since the PS2... can't remember which one. But I do remember entering a GT tournament for the original PSX game and coming second... the only races I lost were to the guy who went on to win. We both exclusively used the green Mitsi FTO you could win.  :)

Bought this a few days ago

ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UT

I'd had a price alert set up on camelcamelcamel for when it dropped below £60 and it did just that at £57... I've since received price drop alerts each day as it goes down further... it's now sitting at just £50

It turned up today, so this evening I got it out.. plugged it in... and it's DOA.  :(

So back it goes... and by the time I get a refund and order a replacement... I'm betting the price will have rocketed back up again.

Typical of my luck.... I ordered two pairs of moccasins last week (I wear them around the house and for driving)... they showed up Friday, went to wear a pair today and on one a lace snapped (crappy leather one, not a proper lace and I recalled I had to swap them out on an old pair too) and the second pair were the wrong colour.... navy blue instead of black.

So tomorrow I have to arrange to send back two items... and order some new laces.

Not a great start to the year... but at least I got an extra Toblerone, which is nice.  (It's a tradition, my mum buys me a toblerone every xmas, this year a friend of the family also got me one)

System 1: Gigabyte Aorus B450 Pro, Ryzen 5 2600X, 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz, Sapphire 5700XT, 250GB NVME WD Black, 2x Crucial MX5001TB, 2x Seagate 3TB, H115i AIO, Sharkoon BW9000 case with corsair ML fans, EVGA G2 Gold 650W Modular PSU, liteon bluray/dvd/rw.. Oh, you paid for it (in losing any semblance of privacy you ever had).

Yep - Have to agree he paid for it and will continue doing so for as long as it's around.

To me it's beyond odd that something that's long been proven as bad is now the "In" thing.

That something being Alexa.
Alexa has been known for a very long time now as spyware and was created for that purpose, still serves as such and yet it's now what's being touted as an acceptable if not desirable feature with all this "Smart" stuff.

Proves with good marketing you can sell anything.

"If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask someone else first"..... Nirvana
"Whadda ya mean I ain't kind? Just not your kind"..... Megadeth
Speaking of things being "All Inclusive", Hell itself is too.

I use Google assistant on my phone all the time for basic questions like currency conversion, and playing music from my Google music account, I would have the same sort of use case for this. And when I'm not actively interacting with it I'd probably switch off the mic.

But hey, way to be passive aggressive and talk about me, as if I'm not literally getting notifications. Clearly you're better people than I am.

This thread is to look at, and appreciating other people's purchases, not to shit on them.

Details about  EVGA 650 GQ, 80+ Gold 650W, Semi Modular, ECO Mode, Power Supply 210-GQ-0650-V1 with a missing molex (who needs molex anyway?!) for $75 shipped for my friends budget gaming PC build. It's all shaping up to be a decent PC, unlike the last one I built her very cheaply but with all new parts. $400 build vs a $500 build but used/open box parts carefully picked for best value vs what's cheap and new because I don't know much better. What a difference a decade makes, eh?

A week or two ago, I bought myself a hue light strip so i can sync it up with my pc via aura sync (Which kinda works, although its a bit off and flat out doesn't work with certain modes, particularly the music mode which I was hoping would work well). I also went to nyc where I went out and bought a pair of Airpods Pros at the 5th Ave store, or the cube (Which are soooooo much better than the regular airpods imo). I also popped on over to the Nintendo store where I got a copy of breath of the wild and a Mario pin.

Small backstory behind more audio crap.

I work as a surround sound mastering engineer, and I've decided to start to work from home, I do have a 7 channel setup right now at home, but I need atmos, and I want atleast 9.2.4, so my 11 channel processor and 11 channel amp just were not cutting it, Hence more audio gear, also another power conditioner as I don't have enough outlets, And yes, the new processor gives me 32 channels of audio, fully and properly processed, no upscaling.

Yay more stuff to setup

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Got these new suckers! Bought them used but only half a year old from a total audiohead.

It was actually a total pain in the arse to get them in my rather small car so my brother in law had to come get them for me and he drove them home to me an hour, lol.

Anyways, they are freaking huge (TV is 60") and the base is incredible, so much that I don't need a sub anymore for my home theater.

I also got the RP440C Center speaker with them but it isn't installed yet, as my TV stand is too small, Kek.

Honestly, I don't, I need about 20, but the price was decent, and I like NETGEAR stuff, I should've got the 24 port version, but I guess if I ever get more stuff, I've got the capacity to facilitate it.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Ordered the ram for my new build. Wanted to get it before prices supposedly go up as some are predicting.

Ordered a Samsung 860 evo 1tb m.2 today on amazon for 120 usd. My Crucial MX500 1tb m.2 failed on me after under 8 months. It fell victim to intermittent communication issues with the system (seems to be a somewhat common issue) which required it to be re-seated every time it stopped talking properly. Only way crucial would help me out was an RMA, and their way meant they would need to receive the drive, check it out, then send me another if it met their requirements... not about ready to sit out for a month for them to gander at a broken part. Bit the bullet and got a better one. Seems it was on sale too, so I guess silver linings?

This is my mass storage drive, for all my games and whatever else for school or what not. So no gaming till Sunday late at the earliest but more like money. Gotta re download over 300gbs or games. Darn you crucial lmao!

My First (Current) Build:

Ryzen 7 2700 (3.90 1.35v OC) | Asus Prime X470 Pro | G.Skill Ripjaws V 16gb 3200 | Inland Professional 512gb M.2 NVME | Samsung 860 Evo Sata M.2 1TB | Corsair H115i Platinum | Corsair ML 140 RGB Fans | Fractal Design Meshify C | EVGA RTX 2070 XC Ultra

Laptop:

HP Spectre X360 13t Gem Cut (i7 8565u, 240gb, 8gb mem)

My Ride:

2015 VW Golf TDI Sportwagen

Eventually an XJ manual...
