An Update From Corsair About The RGB Keyboards...

Bestbuy tends to be incredibly sloppy. When the Razer Naga 2014 came out, it was on Newegg and Amazon from day one. Bestbuy took another 2-3 weeks before they had it.

Not to mention the fact the store will say in stock but it's not actually there.

I worked there for a year, so I know some of the hustles more intimately than others.

I'm interested in a K70, but I like to go to Bestbuy for the replacement plans.

When you like to dabble with a soldering iron, you know you get you're money's worth.

I don't really think best Buy's plan is necessary the way Corsair handles their RMA's (they ship you a replacement first if I'm not mistaken). It's easy to make these companies think the problem was their fault. I mess around with all my boards and if i need to return any, i can it broke because of workmanship.

 

I actually snapped a clear stem once, it was going into a Filco. I didn't have an extra at the time so I soldiered it into my WASD Code (before modding it) and RMA'ed that. I got my extra switch and a few more in the box (I asked), and didn't pay a thing.

Ironically I have too many clear switches now.

well with bby plans I can just walk into a store.

Also I could probably get away with popping a few keycaps off and returning it. I could probably go so far as to desolder all my LEDs in the board and swap it out.

If a new model comes out like I had the razer naga 2012, I just used the plan to upgrade to 2014.

Welcome to the forum Corsair James Do you know where to get the open source version of the software and what language it uses. I want to start doing some mods, so when I get mine, I have some programs that just need troubleshooting. Thank you for taking the time to make tutorials on this new board.

when is the k65 mx rgb coming out im really interested in that one because i dont use the num pad and its probably going to be cheaper and lighter

Mmmmm....skittles. I'm looking forward to this with brown switches. Also, any update on release of the m65 rgb mouse?

Awesome picture! Thanks for the link to the software in your blog entry, been wanting to get to look at that! The README file (yes, I read the README file ;)) that came with the software says Supported Products: Corsair Vengeance K70 RGB. Will the same Corsair Utility Engine software support the K95?

PC Case Gear in Aus actually shipped them early. A friend of mine got his yesterday and I had a look at it. There wasn't any software at the time though.

I agree with renz62, any official date for browns/blues? Or is it just some random day late september/early october? If there were pre-orders for them I wouldn't worry about it but...

Lol in Canada the K70 is $220 with taxes included... It's a steep price tag but hopefully I am picking one up tomorrow... I really want a mechanical keyboard and in the end the allure of 18 G-keys isn't enough.

I'll just map everything onto the numpad, lol.

 According to a freeze frame from the Linus video @ Pax, it's going for $149.99 USD so that'll place it $20 cheaper than the K70.

@dwitty on corsair facebook page in one of the comments on a post someone from corsair said all keyboards including k95 is late September. So I guess unless it's postponed again that's good news.

The NDA was probably just lifted on the Cherry Red version. Can we just appreciate what Corsair James has done for us. I have heard the software is really difficult to navigate, and his tutorials should be a big help. Lets not pester him with a question he can obviously not answer. Late September appears to be the release date for everything else. Just be patient.

He said he was perfectly fine answering questions ;) But it's not like we're really pressing for an answer...or at least I'm not O-o Sides,if I was really in that big a hurry,I would have pre-ordered when I saw them first available for the mx reds :) But I'm fine waiting another month for browns, which ironically, might take that much time.

Whoops yhea... edited. I am in the middle of shipping back a Pioneer Deck so I typed the wrong thing.

Jealous, all i've got is a VMS 4.1 (it's crap)

 

On topic however, are there any good keyswitch demo things? I know Coolermaster has one and MAXKey (I think that's their name) but half the time they're all sold out. All I need are the red and brown switches, i'd just prefer them on a board like MAXKey has (and i'm assuming Coolermaster too) so I can test the loudness of them. I've messed with my room mates red switch keyboard to see how quiet I can be on it, but it's going to take some getting used to so i'm not making a bunch of noise while my boyfriend sleeps xD (otherwise i'd probably just for sure go with blues because why not have an annoyingly clicky keyboard? X3)
