Yeah quality isn't the best but it uploads the full 16MP

Dunno. Could just be me. Anything above 1080 gives no indication of uploading.

Here's another picture from the mountain, again I never stage any shots, just find angles or moments I like. Being forced to drop the resolution to put on the forum kind of kills it, but the original image isn't all that crisp either. Kind of another one of those "I like the composition, but the camera could've been better" shots.

the composition and color look nice. I'd maybe push some more blue into it.

Probably. It's just an extra step though. And then I have to delete it later which will break the link.

I could just have slow upload or something. There's a progress bar, but anything above 1080 and it seems to just freeze.

Yeah, I don't color grade any of my photos, outside that one silhouette shot. Just never really thought it was worth it and couldn't get it to do what I wanted.

Seems like you have some lens dust. Otherwise... I dunno, it's bokeh.

Here's one of mine that I think was the initial frame of a video and wasn't focused yet. Can't think of any other reason it would be 720. Pretty cool fireworks show though, was laying in a park across the street from where they were launching, couldn't really get any closer than that. You would occasionally get peppered by some debris though.

Picked up a Zebralight flashlight (an SC600FC IV Plus) recently. Used it in this shot to illuminate the shadows ever so slightly. Certainly easier to use than the finicky infrared trigger on the external flash (that also requires me to fire the pop-up). I use the light for work a lot, and I drive at night a lot as well. So the price was worth it.

Tbh, I hadn’t been shooting much lately, primarily out of an unholy combination of fatigue, depression and lack of time.

Canon G7x mkII; F5.6, ISO 400. I don’t actually remember the shutter speed as I’d used Aperture Priority and manual ISO.

raid doesn't protect from a lot of issues. like malware, system being destroyed, fire ect. you want an onsite copy, offsite and then offline (often the last 2 are the same but really they should be separate)

RAID protects you from hardware failures (to varying degrees). Backups protect you from data loss.

RAID is just a way of combining several drives into one virtual one. Depending on the level you get redundancy but it's not a backup. Backups are a copy of your data you don't touch. RAID may offer redundancy but you still work with live data. That is by definition not a backup. You can have a RAID system as a backup system but then you just put them there and don't touch them. RAID redundancy only protects your from failing drives. Nothing else. There are many other ways to damage your data a simple RAID with live data will not cover. Accidental deletes, accidental saves, ransom ware, malware in general. None of that is being covered by a RAID with live data. Theft, vandalism, power surges, natural distasters, none of that is being covered with an on site backup - that's why you need an off-site backup. The only real protection against malware and similar stuff is an offline backup - you dump your date and as soon as it's done, you take it offline and store it off-site. Tapes are great in this regard.

A RAID mirror only mirrors your files and all changes - you make a stupid modification and save it? That's done. You erase it completely? That's done. You've been infected with ransom ware? That's done. If one drive fails, you don't have redundancy anymore and you're working with live data without any form of protection. And if both drives are of the same model and the same age, the other drive will most likely fail within days or weeks.

Bottom line: RAID IS NOT A BACKUP!

I've never really been a huge fan of B&W photos, hence why I print all my assessments with colour to get those brownie points if anything from a shine of colour.

Aside from that this photo sorta looks like the dog is a mafia boss of some kind with the light shading some areas out a the blinds being down (but not closed) to show a little of mystery. In all efforts I'll give this a 7/10, the main negative bring I don't like B&W still, and a slight negative being the blinds not being closed enough. On a side note that looks like a very old couch.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

The couch is some hideous shade of poo brown, so it wasn’t a color I felt went well with the direction I wanted. I liked the contrast though, hence the decision to go Black and White.

The blinds were fully closed, however, my Dad’s other dog tore a giant gaping hole on the side. That is the light you’re seeing in the foreground. For a spur of the moment shot, not a lot I can do about that.

It's pretty good for a 10MP photo from a 40MP lens. It lives up to the reviews. Better than my Fiancee's iPhone 11. Zooms in alot further aswell.

Plus, Android is always a bonus IMO.

I was limited to a laptop for the previous four years, since my old pc gave up. Life isn't great at all times mate. Maybe I know what's RAID, maybe I used it. Maybe I worked with it, and with centralised data backups, and with crazy technologies like Hewlett Packard Indigo, for example. Maybe I've done a lot of great things, and I'm just having a long bad patch now. Not really a reason to presume I need tutoring and such tone. Maybe not everyone has same opportunities at the same time. Best regards to you. Thanks for the advice.
