German shepherds:

I have a 3.5 yr old female and she is great with the family and she isn't aggressive toward strangers. Although these dogs need a lot of exercise, and I mean nearly constantly. 

They have a witty personality and can be a hassle at times, but they are smart. My dog loves to jump in the pool by herself to cool off.
