emphasis on some, this is going to be my first build, and I'm getting a gtx 1080ti, and all I'm asking is: what memory should I get? i understand most of the parts and how they should pair with other certain parts, but memory has always confused me, I have no clue what I should get

and as a favour: id just like a memory suggestion, nothing else, I'm trying to go in (almost) completely blind

RAM ?
For us to recommend you a RAM, we need to know your CPU at least.

But because some CPU can be used on both DDR4 and DDR5 platform, it's better to give us your motherboard as well.

We always recommend 6000Mhz CL30 speed DDR5 RAM for Ryzen 7000 and 9000 CPU's.

this is a good ram kit, and as @Hinjima said with amd's newer cpus a speed of 6000mhz and a cl latecy of 30 or 32 is best. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/H9CZxr/teamgroup-t-create-expert-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-ctced532g6000hc30dc01

great, thanks

and just to make sure, brand isn't too important for ram/memory, aside from quality, specs are generally the deal breaker, not the fact that its kingson or corsair branded ram, right?

Brands dont usually matter 🙂

Just dont go with a completely no name brand that looks sketchy or is from Temu for 17 dollars.

We also recommend 2x16GB instead of 4x8GB for Ryzen 7000.

Probably 16GB of DDR5 CL32-CL30 RAM. Or 32GB. Make sure that the CL latency isn't too high, lower is better here!
