Hey guys, so I have been getting this GPU error a lot lately: "GPU error: Windows has restarted your GPU driver due to a problem, driver upgrade, or physical removal." It mainly happens in League of Legends. Also, for some reason, some programs don't work as they should. For example, MAYA (an AutoCAD-type of software) won't mirror anything. If you press the "Mirror" command, the program just closes itself; no errors, no recovery save, nothing. This is my rig btw: RX 7900 GER, Ryzen 7 5700x3d, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, Asus B550-PLUS motherboard, Samsung 990 Pro SSD, and 1000 W PSU. I have tried everything: updating the GPU, updating the BIOS, updating everything, and updating every driver I found on the official site of my motherboard. I even tried older versions of GPU drivers. MAYA is more stable, but the same issues occur in it and again in League of Legends. I mean, my other games work fine. I played through Indiana Jones without many issues. One time there were some sound issues, but they were very minor. I am kind of disappointed if these are AMD drivers that are killing my performance and crushing my games.... I have spent a lot of money on the RX 7900 GER. Do you guys think it's best for me to go back to Nvidia? Again with Nvidia, I had 0 issues with any application or any game... I know that Nvidia is more expensive and all that, but I just want a stable PC that I don't have to spend every few weeks troubleshooting....

But then for a slightly higher price you get a card 30% slower on a bright day 😛

I mean I agree, I bought 7900gre becous it was way cheaper then nvidia and gave really good resoulsts. I just didn't anticipate that I will have so many driver related issues.... Like I said Inidian Jones worked really good, but then one cutscene didn't had any souund at all, no music no nothing

I had some games crashing at high clock speed, try capping clock at -400MHz vs max in Adrenalin

Okay I will try that. I mean like I said. I am kinda dissapointed in amd. They can improve this card and other cards.... with just better drivers

This might help. Also try enabling Direct X 9 within the games settings.

I reckon because LoL is not demanding at all, that make GPU fluctuate between low and high clock states and that might cause instability.
Does Radeon software have the option to make the GPU use highest clock state all the time?

Also you might want to try reseat the GPU but make sure the PCIe slot is 100% dust free/clean.

I have the same problem and have tried everything I could—reinstalling my GPU drivers (I have a 7900 GRE paired with a 7600X), updating the BIOS, reinstalling Windows 11 multiple times, even trying Windows 10—but nothing fixes it. I also contacted Riot Support, but they were useless.

If you're still having this problem, just enable HYPR-RX — it worked for me. I was about to buy a new GPU. Just make sure to apply it to League of Legends only
